Good Morning Mossy and all. Feenix jarred a lot of good memories loose. found a pic of the beach at Lantana. The tide was up and not the best beach pic but being in Michigan it looks Mighty Fine now.View attachment 1280899

Good memories here too. They are running out of room and built up the beach since I was there last. 3/4 mile north was the Hawaiian and from the seawall looking down, you used to see the submerged remains of old Hwy A1A. I see that they filled that beach too. (G-Earth.)

All this talk of diving and beaches, warm temps here and there. We have a cold snap here and snow and no one is used to it because it has been rather warm for the season.
More great food pics I am enjoying that and dreaming of warmer days to come

The soup is made with ground turkey because of my beef problem so we just call it turkey ball soup .

Oh man you are killing me, I'm hungry AND cold.. Also getting a  out of the turkey ball soup name. As I wold of course! :eyebrows:
We laugh when we serve it to guests without an explanation. They obviously have no idea of the anatomy of a turkey :crying:

It is so simple to make. I measure nothing but this it what is in it. Usually I have some homemade chicken stock but it has high value in our kitchen so I usually add one qt of boxed/canned chicken stock to stretch the home made. It works just fine with canned stock alone.

In a Cuisinart chopper throw in a 1/2 cup of cooked rice (precooked brown rice comes in a plastic bowl) a generous amount of fresh mint leaves at least 1/4 cup, 1/2 to 1 tsp ground cumin, a healty grind of black pepper and some salt. Blend until the rice is about quartered. In a bowl put an egg and a dash of oat milk (milk or cream) whisked then add 1 pound of ground turkey, rice mixture and blend. To the boiling stock add whatever vegetables and mushrooms you have. This is different every time based on what I have. Let it come back to a boil for a few minutes and turn down to a simmer. If it is boiling too hard it will break up the balls. Drop 1" to 1.5" meat balls into the pot and turn the heat back up to maintain the simmer. The soup will be ready when the balls are cooked through -15 to 20 minutes. Serve with a generous handful of shredded cheddar cheese over the top and sourdough toast.

When I was single 35 years ago I had a bunch of one pot recipes. I would make dinner and eat it all out of a single pot. 1 pot 1 spoon. The only one that comes to memory is to boil some pasta dump the water stir in some Velveeta cheese, shredded Asiago cheese a little milk, a can of tuna and a handful of chopped parsley. I still like this today but Ms. MOG does not even like the smell :crying:.

I don't hunt anymore. For me, hunting is really a group endeavor. Yeah, I've hunted by myself, but it's far more meaningful to me to hunt with friends or family. I've had a small number of true friends, I'm picky and private. Most of them have been killed or died and the living are far away and with modern life, family is spread out.
With hunting, for me it's a primal need to interact with nature. That's why growing canna give me pleasure. Where ever I;ve been in this world, I've always grown something. It's a pretty deep-seated need in me.
Last time I went huntin was hungover, trudging through 2' of snow until we came across a fallen tree and spent most of the day puttin down bottles of Dickies Wild Irish Rose.

Grab your fork @Jraven .......:pass:...
