This darn popup is making the forum barely usable today. From a user's standpoint -- I don't really care that one of the polling calls failed, nor do I want to see a modal message or two or 5.

Interim solution is to block javascript for this site.

Hey brother we're actively working on some solutions here; we think we may have a few things pinpointed on a few issues.

Good deal. Timeouts are usually a capacity thing. And having every tab of every user hit your server every few seconds.

My point still stands that I don't need/want a modal popup... Like ever. For anything. On any site. Modal's are so 80's

What happened?
The initial connection between Cloudflare's network and the origin web server timed out. As a result, the web page can not be displayed.

Not my site butttt I think the obvious solution is to scrap cloudflare. I don't think you need to find a different solution.

Apparently you have to enable javascript long enough to get through cloudflare, then turn it off again.

Aye, I've been researching it and am going to try to implement the fix soon (annoys me too; not sure what started causing it but it's happened to other forums running the same software, so luckily there's some things tried out that seemed to work.) So it's noted and we're on it!

I'm also working on our Cloudflare settings to be less "in your face." Honestly would love a better solution than Cloudflare but it works (and it's free.)

We'll be implementing a new caching software as well (hopefully in the next few days,) and we're hoping to see some noticeable performance gains from that.
