Hello AFN! First time grower, and first time poster here. Really thankful for this website and all the members. I have been reading from the shadows for quite some time now and have learned so much from y’all.

Ok so as far as my setup

Tent : 5x5 viparspectra

Lights : Viparspectra 1350 watt + Viparspectra 600 watt

Fan: 6 in in-line fan intake w/carbon filter

Medium : Mother Earth coco+perlite 70/30

Nutrients : GH flora trio, Calimagic, GH ph kit ( just ordered ArmorSi and Rapid start.

Water : Poland spring till I figure out a better option :/ . My tap water is well water, I don’t really trust it, smells funny.

Seeds: Fastbuds green crack x2 , Mephisto strawberry nuggets x3,
Seedsman UK cheese x1
Seedsman amnesia auto x2

I’m only planning on keeping the 6 healthiest plants, figured I would run into some problems and germinated a few extra.

The problem: The true leaves on my green crack seedlings are turning a lime green and seem to have slowed down in growth the past 2 or 3 days, they are 11 days old now and I’m worried that they are stunted, I can’t compare them to my other seedlings because I started the rest of my ladies a week later than the green crack. I just want to figure out the problem so that i can prevent it from happening to my younger seedlings.

My newb opinion: I may have overwatered them , first grow so a little obsessive lol, been watering once day with a spray bottle initially then when the true leaves started growing , I very lightly hand watered them around the base of the plant, always using water ph’d between 5.6 - 5.9. Or a nutrient deficiency ( growing in coco I have heard mixed opinions on the subject of when to introduce my nutes at 1/4 strength. Is this a sign to start? Or is something wrong with the environment? I have the LED’s 30 inches above the seedling and running on veg at 75% power. 20/4 light schedule. Temps range from 70-82 , still trying to dial it in to a little more stable range. Humidity wasn’t at 40% for the first week until I purchased a humidifier which has brought it up to 60-70%. Little tough keeping the temp and humidity perfectly stable since my tent is in a non- insulated garage and it is fall where I live in New England , I have a small heater inside the tent which at least is keeping the temp above 70 at all times.

If anyone has any input on what could be the issue or has any tips it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
~Ayeeedrien

... time to start weak nutes mate.. remember, coco is devoid of nutes, and the reserves in the cotyledons are tapped out rapidly,... start with the Ca-Mg going is solution first always, then base fert's, then pH adjust if needed... 5.8-6.0.... I recommend getting a TDS or EC meter to measure your nute conc. accurately.

Yeah what Waria said. Your babies are hungry. The first two weeks the plant is busy building roots so it looks like nothing is happening.

As to your water does it smell like rotten eggs? If so that may not be a problem just high sulfur which may be desirable in flower. You need to know the EC/PPMs and PH of the water. Is it municipal water?

Hey thanks for the responses gentleman ! I have started feeding them at about quarter strength with GH armorSI, Rapid start, cal mag , Flora micro and bloom, PH’ing down between 5.5-5.8. They loved the first feed and color came back strong ! However I am worried about one of the green crack. It seems to have stopped growth on the newest node ( sorry if I’m using incorrect terminology) here are 2 pictures of green crack [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] followed by 2 pictures of green crack [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG] so you can see what I mean. Is this a genetic mutation or does it just need to catch up? Also I plan on getting a Ppm meter this week , I have been doing my research and understand ppm a lot better and realize how important it is to regulate it

Thanks for the response man o green! The tap water I’m using is well water, not sure if I would call the smell rotten eggs just peculiar , ph is around 7.8 and I’ll be buying a PPM meter this week and test it out

I always question septic leach when someone says well water and smells off. Are you on a septic system if so you may want to get that water tested. I lived in a country house that had that happen. Fortunately no one got sick but it was expensive for a new deeper well. Do you water your outdoor plants with it? Are they ok? 7.8 PH is normal for well water.

Luckily I don’t believe it’s septic leach, it’s an old country house with old pipes but we did get the water tested before moving in and have been using the water for years without any problem, outdoor plants/animals have been fine. Maybe just a mineral build up or something causing the smell? Probably harmless the more I think about it but you never know. Any thoughts on what could be going on with the plant in the picture on my last post?

I cannot tell under that spectrum, get a 5000K CFL or led bulb on the end of an extension cord and hang it in your tent for taking pictures. Turn any other lights off. We need to see the natural colors of the plants to be able to determine their health.

just a quick note as I use the Viparspectra as well (hopefully getting rid of soon). I find I can not get my lights as close to what is stated in the VS manual. Looking at your pic's I can see some of the edges of the leaves curling up. In my experience that's from the led being to close. I foliar feed with cal mag in addition to it's normal watering seems to help me get the lights a little closer. I'm pretty new grower so discretion following my advice is advised :)
