Just wondering how close do I want my lights? I heard that if the light is kinda far away, it makes the plant taller. My lights aren't adjustable, so I have the plants sitting on top of empty buckets. Should I lower the plants?
A bit more info about your lighting system (type, power etc) also age of the plants would help get a more accurate answer. But as a general rule if you can put your hand under the light at the same level of your plant and it's not burning you should be ok. Plants will stretch to the light when they are further from the light but if to far more energy is wasted stretching for the light and not used on new leaf growth.
With HPS/MH/CFL put the light as close to the plant as possible. If you can't move the light prop up the plants. If your using LED you want 24" or so distance between the light and plant. More info would get you better answers.
Sorry for the lack of info! I have a hard time putting my thoughts into print. I'm growing 2 plants under cfl's. The Auto Heavy Bud broke the dirt first, a day later, the Northern Lights x Big Bud came out. The NL is really small. I was wondering if I should move the HB down away from the light since it's bigger. I'm most likely over thinking it! It's my 1st grow of any kind! There's hardly any heat from the cfl's. Thanks for the replies!
