What's the consensus after planting a germinated seed, light or darkness until they sprout?

Light. Low intensity though.

I've been covering them with the same small shot red solo cup then after it sprouts I take it off so she can start getting light.
For it it come out the soil warmth and humidity is more important than light

I start every seed, auto and photo, in solo cups of bblm, on thermo heat mat, under 96w T5HO, 24/0. 99.999% germ for years and years.
Over the years, I've upgraded every aspect of my grow systems...except my germ method.
