Unless your LEDs can produce over 1200 PPFD there is no way it is light burn. I ran ChilLed lights 1400 PPFD 3 inches from my tops and no light burn. They will burn if they physically touch the diodes. I have also run 60 watt COB LEDs as close as 3 inches with out any light burn!

Light burn happens with HID lamps and this is where the idea comes from.

Supposed light burn 999 times out of 1000 it is a nutrient problem and with most growers it is over feeding. Feeding unbalanced nutrients is the next reason and then under feeding. Under feeding is a rare event here.
I didn’t want to take over someone else’s thread, so I’m putting this one up.
Are you sure your info is correct @Mañ'O'Green because I’m pretty sure I got light burn because the tops of my buds are turning white and bleaching & I got a mars hydro tsw2000 @ 12” which maxes out @ 1122 ppfd. Also I’ve only been feeding plain water for last 2 feedings and raised light and this seemed to be stopping the spread.

That is light bleaching of the LED's, a new thing in canna plants and they tink it happens due to the auto genes in it, but me happened also in photos. Not much to worry about;-)

I think you have a lock-out going on. PH maybe? It is the plain water that is helping the lock-out.

This is the PPFD footprint for my lights at 6 inches. My plants were within 3 inches for at least 4 weeks (so you can double these numbers) until their weight pulled them down and further away from the light. They had no light burn.

I estimate they were getting 2500+ PPFD.

You see how it is only on the top of the plant. Your problem runs down the plant.

Let's see if we can pinpoint the cause?

Please fill in this form: (copy and paste part is below, this first one tell what specifically to include)

-Problem: (brief description)
-Medium/grow method: soil; soilless-- coco, or peat based like Promix, etc. (please provide the actual product name); DWC, NFT, etc.
-Feed and supplements used: include brand, dosage/strength, frequency of feeding and watering (alone); method-- by hand, drippers, rercirc' or drain-to-waste,... N-P-K #'s too if you can!
-Water source: RO/DI; tap- dechlorinated-?..... EC or TDS reading; pH (don't bother with this on RO/DI, do bother with TDS/EC though to confirm it's working well enough)
-Strain and age
-Climate: night and day ambient T and RH%; res' temperatures; any extremes in T/RH% exposure
- Light used: HID, LED, COB, combo of,... wattage; light cycle hours (20/4, 18/6 , etc.); distance to tops....
-Additional info: PH in the root zone. How long have the plants been affected?...How fast did symptoms appear?... Anything else you think might be relevant..

--Pictures including WHOLE PLANT PICS, and troubled leaves.. use normal light or flash as other light sources ruin color rendering, critical for diagnostics! Turn off the grow lights.

Yeah this is actually a photoperiod. Is the light bleached part still good? I’ve heard it may not contain THC. Is this true?

Medium/grow method: Photoperiod with ffof soil started Flower on Oct 16 (day 82)

Feed: and supplements used: ff trio, open sesame, beastie bloom, Cha Ching, Botanicare cal mag, & recharge. Followed chart & Fed @ 1/2 strength throughout entire grow water, feed, water, etc. Water days were cal-mag and water only until a couple weeks ago when I cut out the calmag because someone told me it’s no longer needed in late flower. Water is always Ph’ed’ from 6.3-6.7 usually sticking close to 6.5

water source: tap water @ 140ppm coming out of tap around 8 pH that is left to sit for a min of a day.

PH in the root zone: don’t know but runoff pH is always the same as going in.

Strain/age: Strawberry Cough Photoperiod day 82 of flower

light used: Mars Hydro TSW2000

Climate: 82F & 40-45Rh
