New Grower Let’s get Meph’d up! Skywalker OG and Sour Stomper

Day 40

The defol experiment continues. I feel like I’m basically daring the plant to grow buds at this point because I’ve never removed this much lower growth nor as many fan leaves. They‘re small to begin with so I’m not missing out on much yield, definitely a good plant for experimenting. Everyone looks happy and healthy anyways.

I won’t be online this weekend so in advance I wanted to say to you few who are reading this, MERRY CHRISTMAS!! It’s my second Christmas this year, the first being the day I stumbled onto this site. With all the chaos and division in the world today I know there’s at least one thing that everyone on this site agrees on…whenever it’s time to smoke, being able to just walk to your cooler and grab a few nugs of beautiful sticky stinky tasty potent bud is badass! And smoking it while admiring the next generations growing happily is badasser! So cheers to all of us!

Eviction notice served at the seedling tent. Gonna experiment a little with light distance for young ones and a median humidity for different generations. Looking to save electricity money but I’ll put em back if it gets too crowded before the sour cracks are good to go but they’re genetically small so there will be direct light for a good while. Perfect hobby for a tinkerer because experiments abound. So kids meet your mentors!

Day 52
Sour Crack

First time not topping and while I enjoy the open middle space a topped plant provides, there’s no arguing that main colas look sweet. Training them was fun, a bit different but the canopies came out pretty good….

Plant heights in inches from soil are 16, 18, 25, and 32. Short and bushy to tall and lanky. One on the ground to one raised on a 14” bucket…

The defol experimenting continues and I don’t seem to be f***ing em up yet but they’re safe from me for now haha. To me they look like different stages of the same plant, like snapshots from a week apart. Trippy.

Looking super healthy as always gromigo!

I haven't successfully topped, but I know I really like the plants I've trained with a main cola but also 6-8 tops that are only a couple inches lower. Kind of feels like the jest of both worlds l, but can be a bit tedious adjusting things every day. Hope your new year has started out well!
Here's to growing more bud than we known what to do with in 2023!:pass:

Thanks Hog and a happy year right back atcha! I’m itching to try some trippy stuff on the next 4 kids like maybe topping a couple of the main branches, cutting out a couple nodes, etc. The more these plants stay healthy in spite of my actions, the more I wanna challenge em. I’m gonna start a new journal with them so it’s easier for future me to refer back to.

Day 56
Mephisto Sour Crack

Buds starting to noticeably fatten up day by day. They smell delicious and look even tastier. Pistils just starting to get red tips. Looking forward to harvest but the amount of killer bud accumulating in my cooler is becoming absurd. Lovely problem to have.
Happy growing! Peace

Beautiful plants, PLB!

I'm having a hell of a time dialing in my light (FCE4800). Or at least I think I am... Would you mind sharing your typical DLI schedule? Would very much appreciate it!
Dude I have no idea what DLI or ppfd they are getting. I haven’t really tested the last couple grows, just looking for signs. But I always have my light at least 36” away until it’s impossible, 60% power first two weeks, 80% next two weeks then up to 100%. Seems to get consistent results in my tent. My thinking is the further the light the less difference in ppfd from top of plant to the bottom, but as usual I could be wrong. I know squat about lights and watts let alone comparing lights, but I have a 4x4 efinity ecogrow 630 led. And thanks for the kind words pal

Just wanted to officially end this thread. Chopped all 4 sour crack kids to dry on day 71 with about 10-15% amber. So thick and bushy that I’ll do more dry trim than usual. It was a fun grow and the size difference between 4 plants same cultivar was pretty trippy, 16” to 32”. I probably won’t take the time to weigh it because all I need to know is it’s plenty of smoke to have on hand, so I’ll end the thread with these pics. Thanks for following! Peace
