I've broken those thin plastic clips on my upper frame supports too :Stones slap: Now I take good tensile strength zip ties and cinch them around the upper outer frame supports of the tent. Then, I run bungee cords across the top of the tent to make a checkerboard pattern. Hook the ends of the bungee cords through the zip ties (I use several zip ties per hook tie-on point, makes me feel extra safe,) then take a locking pliers and squeeze the metal end of the bungees together to form a completed loop so it can't slip out at all. If you have a center support beam, you can loop the bungee around it once or twice to add extra support to it. Use only high quality bungee cords; none of the bargain bin ones.
I'm currently hanging a 1000W HPS 6" vented hood and two 400W 6" cool tubes from this setup via ratchet straps with carabiner clips attached to the bungees. I've supported a big 6" carbon scrubber and it's attached 6" 400 CFM centrifuge fan using these bungees on the upper tent frame on a past grow. I've used this type of setup for the past year and never once had a problem with it; the elasticity of the bungees (with the proper tension set by you) really helps spread the weight of heavier grow equipment out; there are no clips to break; a good strength zip tie can hold a good amount of weight; add several together and those babies aren't going to budge at ALL. If you're using the carabiner clips, you can attach them at several points throughout the ceiling of the tent, allowing you to move the light wherever you need it at a moments notice.
Anyways; just thought I'd share  I'll be in my grow space tomorrow so if I can remember to I'll try to take some pictures for a visual!
