:joint:Hi guys Im new to this site but not to the almighty herb:bow::bow:

I live in South London, UK and am sick of paying thru the nose for weed!

Quality is good but quantity is certainly not, Its about 1.6 grams for £20, I smoke everyday as much as i can and am spending far too much cash on it - therefore i have decided i will be growing my own indoors.

I have grown outdoors a few times with mixed results, Always hit hard by mould when the plants were just about ready, Damn british weather - sucks! Ive attached a few random photos from my 2011 outdoor grow, such beautiful plants:thumbs:

Anyway, enough about me lol, I need advice pls.

I want to grow a minimum of 3oz of bone dry bud every harvest, i will be growing Female Autoflowering plants, I have a tent that is roughly 4.5 ft tall and 2 ft x 2 ft width and depth, the tent will be in my converted loft room, in a large storage cupboard, Stealth is key, which is why LED's are the way for me, i have never grown indoors before btw...

With money not really an issue as i will be saving myself a fortune in the long run i need advice on the right light for my space and 3 oz target per harvest!

Ive been sooo close to purchasing the Cali Lightworks Solarflare 200w (5w diodes) and may still do so, the only concerns i have is A) its got to come from America making returns or faults a bit of an issue and it must also come thru customs (not too bothered about that tbh)
It has very few but very good reviews.. it is about £300 delivered from the states!

But my head keeps being turned by the LED's i can buy in the UK:

Evader 240w
Blackstar 240w
Penetrator series etc

Do these lights really stack up to the Solar Flare - none of them use anything above 3w if im not mistaken, Would these lights be sufficient for my needs??

ps i will be using a Fan/Carbon filter combo in the tent.... Will this eliminate the smell completely? , i also plan to light some strong smelling candles too during flowering..

Any help would be much appreciated people!

Ps i Will start a diary as soon as im up n running:thumbs::thumbs:

Hey WELCOME!!!! THis is a great place! Nice pics dooode!

To answer one of your questions, yes a carbon filter gets rid of 100% of the smell. Just don't buy a cheap one.

Welcome to the AFN. You have definitely come to the right place! Loads of people to help here. Someone with more LED knowledge should be around in no time. :D Good luck dude!

In the space you have you need to consider height of the light above canopy. In this respect not all LEDs are the same ... from your list I would purchase the 240 Blackstar ... If it were me I'd get a ProGrow 180 selective switch for more actual watts used and a choice of spectrums ... http://www.hydroponicshut.co.uk/pro-grow-180-selective-switch-7-p.asp ...
I currently use Advanced LEDs and the plants love them. :toke:

Welcome to AFN Led!

I started out using 2 BlackStar 240's, one over my regular ladies(3 plants) and the other over my 4 Auto's.
They work really well for vegging and did a fair job during flowering.
Since i have added the power of a 400W Ceramic Metal Halide i will just use the LED's for additional lighting.
The ladies have gone mad since the new light!

Way better penetration and all the plants grow towards the light even if they have an LED directly above them.
Temps have gone up a bit but they are easily managed with a fan.

If you are set on LED's you may want to use some CFL's or HOT5's for supplemental lighting.

I have seen some pretty amazing grows with the GrowNorthern lights!

Thanks for all the help n advice ! It is much appreciated!

I've ordered a grownorthen ms0006 - it was in the winter sale so technically I had to lol

Ill start a diary ASAP - thanks again

Will almost certainly be adding some supplementary CFls for extra warmth - enjoy ur trip to sarf London - all about the bbc - and I do mean big Buddha cheese lol

Ez all - peace ! :toke:

Great choice mate and it would've been rude not to buy one in the winter sale :D  look forward to seeing your grow :pimp:
