I have a few autos (87 days, 87 days, and 76 days) that are getting sticky and bulking up, and have begun changing their leaves (it must be fall!!!). Since this is my first grow, I think this is beginning to tell me to be ready to harvest. I really don't want to rush it, but I don't know the do's and dont's around the harvest decision. I do want to flush for about a week, but not sure if I should begin the flush yet???

Do you have a loop?

like builder says a loop/scope is the best way to know if shes ready by looking at the trichomes what are the strains ?

I’d say wait a few days then start your water flush.
Depends on the lower buds too, how are they looking?!

and a jeweler‘s loupe is a handy little tool
I’ve been happy with this one ->
Amazon product

it really helps when checking for cloudy/amber trichomes. I can use the 10x just fine in my hand—the 20x would prob give me a headache! :dizzy:

:smoking:

I do have a usb scope but I’m not very good at taking pics with it. The strains are Girl Scout Cookies, White Widow, and Jack Herer (Jack herer is about 2 weeks behind the others)

Thanks!

Any idea how long to go from "where I am" to harvest? I'm really just trying to gauge when to begin flush. I don't have a clue if this is several days or a few weeks, and that then dictates when I begin the flush...

hard for me to say id probably start cutting the nutes back at least .
the only way to find out for yourself is to do it if your stuck for the bud dont risk it flush and harvest the plant you think looks most ready then leave one a extra week or two so you can watch the trichs develop so you know what to be looking for next time its all about learning

thanks - that makes sense. I hadn't thought of that. The Jack Herer is in a separate tent (along with the JillyBean photoperiod plant, currently in wk 5 of flower, but previously left this out of the discussion). The point is, I have 2 tents, so I'll need to keep one for flower and one for drying.

I'm still most interested to know what a typical trichome development timeline might look like (days? weeks?). Ever seen a timelapse on trichome development?
