Those pH meters are usually inaccurate. The only reliable soil pH meters are in the $300+ range. I would recommend you getting a liquid pH meter. Simply measure the run-off water's pH after it has drained through your medium.

You said this and then liked Jackals Post... Either or will do or is one better? And why would I be measuring the run off? I've read about people doing this but I've also read there is no point in doing it because youre nutrients have already been consumed. Or are you suggesting I measure the runoff immediatly and then I'll have a better idea of what the ph is actually inside the pot which makes total sense.

Think you cracked it in the last part of your post. They are saying measure your run-off from feeding immediately. You are in coco though aren't you which should be inert anyway unless you have mixed it with soil?

Ya, I should be ok just a garbage PH meter I should have saved my $10 bah. And to answer your question  I would NEVER mix my coco with soil. I chose coco for a reason. :smoke:

Nah it went in the garbage cause it was garbage.

No probs, I know some people do to make their soil mix more porous. I previously grew auto's in coco on my previous run, had some minor success but prefer soil at the mo as have used it before doing photo's with some ok results.

IMO you really need two meters, one for soil and one for liquids. You can get by with just one for liquids. Use it to pH your nute solution and then check the run off. But I don't think checking run off is as accurate as checking the soil. I use a Hanna Combo to pH my nutes and an Accurate 8 to check my soil. The Hanna was about $140 and the Accurate 8 was under $50.
