New Grower Late Lime?

Hey.

I mixed my soil together and forgot to add lime and my plants are already growing in there.

What if anything can I do?

Medium is 60/40 mix of grotek coco and vermiculate

What is the pH of your medium? Adding lime is going to raise it so make sure it's necessary first.

Depending on what kind you have you can either mix it into the top layer of the soil, or if its the powdered hydrated lime, you can mix it with water and feed it that way.

Lights come on in about 10 minutes so I'll give it a check. PH should be pretty stable right now as I didn't add any additives, just the soil and vermiculate with some distilled and ozonated. I need to grab a new ph tester as well I bought one of those cheap 2 prong humidity/light/ph meter and I can just tell its not going to be accurate enough for my ladies. I'll check them out tomorrow at the hydro store when I go.

My PH 7.8??? I'm not buying it. This PH METER is GARBAGE!????

Okay, I read this was garbage after I bought it. I just checked my ph which read as 7.8 but the meter didnt even move if it did it was small enough not to notice. So I'm not buying it at all.

What have I done?

Mixed 1 brick of grotek coco 60/40 with vermiculate and only used distilled ozonated water. I should be right around the 5.8-6.0 range. Seedlings were just planted less than 72 hours ago.

I dont think I need help on this one I think I need a new PH meter.

What do you guys think?

Wow it read at 7.8 but the meter barely read I'm 90% sure that my problem here as I stated before is my ph meter and not the medium. Created this thread...

Did you leave the probe in the soil for ten mins or so

Those pH meters are usually inaccurate. The only reliable soil pH meters are in the $300+ range. I would recommend you getting a liquid pH meter. Simply measure the run-off water's pH after it has drained through your medium.

Throw it in the trash and check out Control Wizard Acurrate 8 pH soil meters. They are around $60

Left it in there for about 5 and it didnt budge at all just put it back in but like i said I read these things are garbage. Its brand new but I just dont trust it.

Yup garbage it is. Had a feeling. Its gone. Gotta go to the store tomorrow anyway.
