I just talked with HTG Supply about their 7 band LED and he said the 240 is a 45 degree lens. I thought that seemed pretty tight, but that's the word from them. $270 bucks. Anyone know anything about that one?
Just checked that out on there website pretty much looks like a rebranded blackstar 240 to me or one of those cidly lights made in china that are on ebay not much cheaper than a blackstar either not sure about it mate. Haven't heard of anyone using one with good results and blackstars seem to have a following. I reckon it prob just a rebrand and should be ok but i wouldn't want to be the guinea pig.
I do want to replace that HPS system and was considering another GLH. But the $1,300 price tag on their 500 watt unit has put me off. I'm thinking of putting in two Blackstar 240s instead. Their new lights are using 60 and 90 degree lenses and are full spectrum with red, blue, orange, white and UV. I can do that for $600. While they might not be a fine tuned as the GLH, I just can't justify spending that much.
The 2011 blackstar uv models are using 60 and 120 degree lenses now and two smaller panels is probably a better idea because you can adjust for varying canopy height between different areas of the grow meaning you get better coverage than you would with one larger panel. The downside to blackstars is the 1 year warranty compared to most other companies 3 year warranty but i've taken the gamble and should have them running by next week so i'll post how i get on with them.

you might want to look into a LED setup called solarstorm you can find them at californialightworks.com the solarstorm might be a lil big thought its a 800w unit. but they do have smaller units
Am I the only one here that uses Hydroponics Hut Leds? They work really well for me for both veg and flower. You can even turn off the the flower spectrum is your just want to use the veg part for seedlings. Thats what I do in the seedling box for the first week and they turn them both on the rest of the way. Even with both lights on they are not as red as some of the other lights I see and I like that personally and I dont think my plants have sufffered from it. The 260W model is a lot better than the 180W for all around growing and that is what I use in my Grow box now. They are not the cheapest but they are not the most expensive either. Good mid priced light.
I also just added a GLH 290w to a grow tent I just started so we will be watching this bad boy closely :twist:

Been checking them out recently fella they just started selling them on ebay so i've been reading about them on their website but they don't give a hugely detailed description. I'm really tempted to try the new magnum technology when its released as they will have had a decent bit of time to engineer something to compete with the hydrogrow x lens technology. There new 300w actual draw light should be pretty tasty and would make a good main light for my tent and i could get some smaller lights for supplementing. Lots of people are going with glh and hgl not a lot of europeans with magnums and i wanna see how the magnum performs in comparison to a hgl x lens if i had bags of money i'd buy one of each and do a side by side grow off.
its funny how hgl seem be one of the only companys not offering spectrol control (switching of spectrums) probably because you gonna get better results with more usable specs than just one but it is a nifty feature.
had a look at the solar storm looks like a monster and an interesting concept combining t8 tubes with led bet they have a serious power draw doesn't say what the actual draw is but it uses 5w diodes so maybe 4w max per diode? not sure on them would like to see a grow completed with one before passing judgement.
Just out of curiousity, does anyone use Hydrowarehouse.com? I just went there to see the specs on my LED light to post here and noticed EVERYTHING they had for sale is now removed although the website is still up and running.. Wonder what happend?
