Hey all! So I'll start a grow journal/thread thing! This is my first ever grow attempt.

I suppose I'll call it my "Garden of the Hesperides." It was the name of Hera's orchard where a single tree grew with golden fruit. Fitting for a single plant at a time eh? On to it!

In the last 24 hours I went from nothing to a full on sprout! This thing just erupted.(check out that log that came in my biobizz soil!)

I germinated in a jiffy pellet inside a plastic dome container that was placed on my router for heat. It took until the 5th day to spring to life. Last night I was almost certain it was dead. Came home today and boom! It's alive! Thank god I still work part time so I'm forced to leave things alone.

Current setup:
Seed: Dutch Passion Blue Mazar Auto
3 gallon SmartPot with BioBizz Lightmix soil
A 26W 3500k CFL bulb.
Water presoak 3L pH'd down to 6.2 from 8.8 at the tap
1ml/L General Hydroponics BioRoot

Intake duct visible for the time being, needs adjustment but I wasn't expecting to move into the tent yet! Also the white box is a remote temp/humidity sensor. My LED grow light is sitting at my neighbors house. I should be able to pick it up tomorrow.

first! :jump: ppp

Ok so here is an update: First grow and unsure of what the tent would provide heat and humidity wise.

I am on day 11 since sprout. Pro growers please eval and let me know if I should start over.
Tagging guys I've been reading from. Apologies for bugging you guys. I can tell you are busy with requests.

I think I have messed up in getting started too early and not having all my equipment ready to go ahead of time. The plant is alive but I think it is too stretchy and grew too tall. I must have had the light too high above it. My actual grow light did not arrive when I expected it to and the CFL bulb was as low as I could get it with the straps and stuff I had lying about.

Once i had my light I was too nervous about burning up the seedling so I kept the LED lamp at 30" for the first few days and dimmed below half power. I also had the CFL bulb going for heat. I was not sure what height to use with both lights and the temps were a bit low. (66-68F)

I now have a steady 74/75F and 75% humidity. Within a degree or two on 3 separate sensors. Migro Aray2 light, humidifier in tent, LED driver in tent for heat, 4" exhaust fan and filter, 3" intake "port" with duct, small desk fan for circulation, single 3 gal smart pot.

I have done nothing but water lightly with ph'd 6.2/6.0 water in a circle at the periphery of the leaves. Lamp is currently at 16" and 75% power.

Yep it’ll be fine! Along for the ride now too! :d5:

Looks to have started well. Sure in 3 months you will be smoking the best weed you can get, your own.
Good luck.

Day 15: Things are looking better. Definitely more rapid development in the last 4 days than the first 11. Very relieved to see some progress. The stem looks to be thickening up a bit and I adjusted the circulation fan to push air over the plant . I also just realized I dont need to resize the pics a ton since you can click on them to see full size! Nice feature!

Question on "nodes." I read a lot about them and I want to make sure I'm counting correctly. Also for other new people as well, can you guys confirm this is a correct way to count?
Red text: Cotyledon
Yellow text: First serrated leaves Node#1
Blue text: First triple leaves Node #2

And does anyone know what is up with the dip in the first leaves? Anything to worry about? I suspect not since the rest is growing fine.

Thanks for reading. - Kostas
