Hey guys,

well i just got done doing two side by side grows of Kind Soil and I gotta tell ya, its a nice soil.

Does it perform as advertised: Yes it does, with small variations and a proprietary mix used you should have little to zero issue(s) with quality water used.

Did you have any issue(s) using the Soil: no not really,I ran a large plant with plain coco with a few cups only like 2-3 or so just to help with early feeding and binding the coco together a little better, and then used a shallow layer at the bottom as described by the directions we all get. large strain with ONLY Kind Soil. it performed well actually, just could not sustain the size of the plant all the way through to a FAT harvest,BUT it did flower well and I harvested it and its a lovely smoke too. Moonstone Amnesia by Stone was the shallow layer at the bottom test strain.outstanding structure and growth with selective pruning as I tend to do on some.

Cost: 100 USD for 20LBs to my door. well 96 i think. 8-9 plants depending. stated as 8.

Simplicity of use: the soil like many others was very easy to use,it also let you achieve a water only grow..only water from my well tap faucet was used on both of these plants thee entire time. no bending again to get the cal mag bottle onn top of other bending your already doing,I have a bad back ,so thats a big plus.

ease of playing with the mix as NOT directed by company: it is very easy, yet you do not want to go playing with a highly potent soil like this or others Im sure. all you need to do it add essentially the amount for your pot(usually about 2.2-2.8 LBs for a 3 gallon pot for Auto's) add roughly the same amount of proprietary mixed ready to go soil from the bag(Root,Dr.Earth ect..) and mix the Kind Soil and the bagged mix together..and mix again well. then use THAT as the thicker layer ,and fill the rest of the pot with the soil from the bag as I already mentioned.then plug it with seedling mix or Tier plant into it,either or will work.smaller strains should use the lower end of the soil weight..like 2LBs or 2.5LBs MAX for a small strain in a 3 gallon pot.

Would I buy it again or recommend it to others: well I would and have bought some more actually. and I would and have recommended it to others and will continue to do so. my only issue I guess you could say,is that the fact that I have ot found a rebuilding pack or re amending guide anywhere,so if its a one and done soil,it is still cost effective, its just going to require some working to soil sine i will NOT throw out soil for no good reason LOL! Outdoor or other grows is where i can utilize it. but also it could be used again with simple additions to re build it but again would loose most all if not ALL of the properties once re worked after use.but could be reworked to mostly have a water only grow but that too takes a lot more understanding of soil building which I will not go into here. just can be a lot of work with massively personal and flower rewards! :D

WELL, this is a work in progress actually since as I said in the live grow thread for kind soil

https://www.autoflower.org/threads/kindsoil-official-test-team-grow-battle.52247/

I am not done quite yet, running it a few more ways to see how it performs yet,but thus far Im VERY happy with the ease of use and how well the product smokes ad all of that.it's on par with some of my organic buds. the SNOG has a lemony sweetness to it so far,and the Moonstone Amnesia is still mellowing out but smokes smooth and has a very nice mid day high imo. both are very excellent buds and I got around a total of 4 ounces total between the two plants. not bad for water only eh? could have been better, but it was and still is a test. I recommend trying it a cpl three times to learn how to use organics and what your seeing. chem growers want to play and tinker.not with this..learn teas.

I am on a loner laptop atm for another week or so,so no pics DAMNIT LOL sory. i will add them asap i promise ,in the meatime though your welcome to flip through the live test here and check out ALL the pics i will be adding here among a host of other lovely KS tester plants. again it s well worth trying soil.

Thanks for your detailed review, Eyes. It sounds like you preferred cutting the mix somewhat with a standard base such as Dr Earth, Roots, etc. , so that it would not be 100% strength. It sounded like a roughly half and half mix in the bottom of the pot, with a layer of base mix, being lighter, on top to tier into gently.

I don't want to put words in your mouth, just making sure I understand what concentration and method you like best, so far in what you've tested. The pure KS does appear to be a lil strong for some autos in the tests I've seen so far, but that can also be environmentally related.

Anyhoo, thanks for your feedback and I do want to learn from people's experience with KS, so thanks for giving it a shot for us all to see and learn from
:d5:

well i used the same amount most anyone is supposed to use in a 3 gallon pot for autos which is right around 2.5 pound,I weighted mine roughly to that weight, then i eyeballed it with plain soil. my soil but it was lighter on the foods than normal so any dr earth or similar would do fine, what that does is it help the foods and life blend and not be so caustic on plants and give them that, what people are calling a lack of (def) foods and resources and I disagree is all. I think its a too hot of a soil and has to be blended out a little is all. thats why people are seeing discolorations and things. maybe some light cal mag possibly but again Im not 100%,i just have seen this before in hotter mixes which I cnat believe others arent seeing this. but I took that 2.5 LBs and eyeballed 2.5 LBs of bagged or my soil then mix that together ad use that as a bottom layer. OR you could just mix 2.5LBs with the soil for the 3 gallon pot and mix all that together and pot up your pot,and plug and tier into it. thats all Im talking about. same strength and all that just mellowed slightly and more life and less food will get washed out leading to the lack of foods ppl are seeing and talking about, that effectively fixes this issue. thats why I did that. and others should do that too if using Kind Soil imho. worked well for me and the results are hard to deny!!

I wanna be a little more specific here if I may, when I was saying that some of the extreme burning and withering of leaves were not a lack of food, but a heavier or hotter soil ,and when dried it will and does tend to burn and cause issues, especially if it a more potent or condensed layer. life can only hold soo much food. it needs to be spread out or thinned if you will or even blended with a base. But i do agree that I did see splotching and so on that DID look like small deficiencies imo as well. so I just kind of wanted to be a little more clearer on that. and Thanks again guys. I sort of am referring to the test thread issues that others have been seeing and experiencing, but felt it was also relevant to this thread as well,so here it be :D

oh and yeah I too am seeing light splotching on my fantasmo too,so I could have went a little hotter potentially..? i may try a tea soon. an all but maybe the grape, since she's in a fully maxed out mix imo.should not need anything but a small drink of a life tea is all. which she'll get this week or so. anywho, thanks again everyone ,it's been a pleasure :)
