Just got my first grow tent setup and I have a few questions.

Should I be able to feel air leaving my exhaust? I can't really feel much air flow coming from the exhaust ducting, but I've checked all connections and ducting for air leaks and can't find any. I'm using a 6" S 600 Can Fan and Lite Filter, not sure exactly how to calculate the cfm with these, but it should be at least 200-250, the tent is 2x4x7 (56 cubic feet). Wondering if maybe it could be resistance caused by the angling of my ducting? Not sure what other options I would have in this case as I really want to keep my fan in the tent. The air is definitely flowing, I'm just not sure if the air flow coming from my exhaust should be more aggressive (it's barely noticeable as it is now, but I can smell either the ducting insulation or carbon filter coming from the exhaust).

My only air intake are the two passive intakes on either side of the bottom of the tent, will this be ok or is it imperative that I have an active intake?

Any help would is greatly appreciated, thanks =]

P.S. Going to add another clamp to the Filter/Ducting connection, only had 4 clamps on me, grabbing another tomorrow. Currently using Duct Tape.

Does your filter have plastic wrapped around it or something? Why is it so shiny?

Haha yeah, I actually realized a little while ago that the filter was still shrink wrapped. Removed it and air is pouring out of my exhaust now u.u

That gave me a good laugh this morning. I shot coffee out of my nose when I read this. It's nice you share your mistakes (and later victories), as we can all learn this way. Glad your fix was easy!

On the bright side...you now know you're fan can handle massive negative pressure without burning out. :smoking:

Yeah, good thing I didn't burn my fan out, cause I'm broke haha. Just finished setting up, and everything appears to be good. All I'm waiting on now are teh beans. Ordered from True North Seed Bank 5 business days ago, and still haven't received a shipping confirmation ffs.

The temperature in my tent is around 75F, but 2 feet directly under my 400w MH the temp is reading 88F. Is this normal? Do I need to find a way to drop the temp at soil height or is it the overall air temperature that really matters?
