Asked this in another thread but thought I might try here for a definitive answer. So are cannabis plants Juglone Resistant?

I know a place where a HUGE black walnut tree was removed and with it a large space has opened up in a wooded area and would be a perfect place for some outdoor plants but is the Juglone in the soil going to kill them?

If the tree was removed the juglone shouldn’t be actively released so then it’s half life from some quick google searching appears to be 2 months. Maybe you’re safe to plant, seems germinating is more at risk too so maybe if you transplanted in you would see less issues

Here is a scholarly article on the subject.

Cannibis will grow under black walnut but growth will develope twisty leaves along with purpleing of the leaves and slower growth . Budding will be delayed compared to what's not grown near black walnut and flowers will become dry and brittle and will not fully form. Most of these signs don't show up until fall time or until buds start to form most likey from a higher concentration of the poison from falling leaves and such. Don't plant around black walnut the closer that plants are to the tree the more severely there effective.i would say 100ft minimum distance for an ok crop any closer and your gonna have severe problems
