Update, I have a 200g mass weight which is less mass than this Fat Mac, and I boiled it for a couple of minutes and obviously it dries almost instantly. So it would be easy to heat the fat Mac to 210F. I wrapped the 200g mass in a black rubber glove to be able to handle it and also to get an IR thermometer onto it. Turns out that after 2 minutes it's still 176F and after 3 minutes it's 170F so that's looking very promising, at this rate I'll probably be able to do a first test press with no extra heat at all, and work my may up. But if this quite small lump of iron can stay at that temperature on the outside for so long then the fat Mac would especially as I'd have it in its little leather jacket, then seeing as the whole thing would be about 80C I could compress it down to the last quarter pretty quickly.
