Well I finally pulled the trigger and ordered me a hoop house for the outdoor grow this summer. I got a 10ft x 12ft x 20 ft shell for the grow this year I'm hoping to start early and run late this time around....I still plan on doing a few monster plants outside in the full sun though this will be for my auto flowers and a small pheno hunt with photoperiods I plan to do this year.

That's about the size of mine. You're going to have your hands full with that when summer come.
Check out these clips for how to set one up. It's really important you get the foil as tight as a drum. If you do that the foil will last you for years to come

Thanks for the help bud! Ive been looking at buying one of these for the last 3 years but just hadn't run across any that had good reviews. I finally found one that was pretty expensive but had a 5 star review. I have seen that a lot of them were getting poor reviews from wind damage or cheap building materials. Luckily I have a ton of left over 20ft 1.5" dial poles at the machine shop this year I can weld together to reinforce the structure with, I already plan on adding to the frame right from the start to make it more solid as I get some very aggressive winds here in southern Michigan every year. I went down to the plant nursery down the road and asked them a bunch of questions about the hoop houses they have had for some time and I got the same brand that they have been very happy with for the last decade so I believe I got a good unit for my location. If all goes well I plan on sending power through conduit underground down to the garden and some water lines down so I can run heat and throw a few lights down to it and possibly run it year round. Im hoping to make a few raised beds for in it so I can grow some lettuce and cabbage in it as well as peppers, tomatoes and some small photoperiods and auto's.

Wind damage can only occur if wind can get under the foil or when the foil isn't tightened enough so it can move. Very important to tighten it so you can play the drum on it. The guy from the clip has several more on his channel. The doorframe is perfect for stabilizing and tightening the foil onto.

I've done the same. You won't regret that

The three most important reinforcements you can make for the skeletton are
  • Installing the door like in the clips above. Those beams can and should be buried one to two feet in the ground and are connected with metal band to the rest of the skeletton.
  • Connecting all the ribs together with one long pole on the highest point. Welding gets the best result, but you must treat the surface after welding with some primer as the galvanic coating will have evaporated because of the welding.
  • installing the four diagonal poles on the end ribs. I welded mine from the bottom of the second rib to where the curve starts on the end rib.

Strawberry Kush finished up today she went in for a 48 hour dark period prior to the chop which will come Tuesday after I get home from the shop. She will be 74 days from seed and 60 days into flower at the day of chop! Trichomes are roughly 20% amber today. She smells creamy and fruity with a hint of gas. The nugs are dense and covered with trics.

Straw Dog F1 also finished up today again with roughly 20% amber trichomes. She will be 78 days from seed and 61 days of flower on Tuesday when she gets the chop. Her aroma is strawberry, gas, chemical funk, and cheese. This plant is stacked with rock hard flowers and looks like she is going to yield very nicely!
