Today's the day!

if any of you are unclear about the laws here is a PDF you can download. until they draft more laws this is all we have

https://www.regulatemaine.org/full-initiative-text2/

It will be at least a year until they open any retail outlets I am thinking more like two years.
so I am thinking about starting a little side gig building grow rooms for people

I just thought I would get us a thread started since we are now legal.

I'm up in the st. john valley , northern Aroostook. we all need to do a get together sometime! happy days and happy growin'!

check out ilovegrowingmarijuana.com under Maine regs. they got the breakdown there.

I have already read through the 30 pages twice, not too complicated to understand. I only had to look up one word that I had never seen before

in case your wondering the word was remuneration....

where are you from in Maine steve? you don't have a younger brother named jason do you?

I suppose since you posted about the laws, I oughta read it.. I'm not to savvy on laws and politics but I'll give it a read

Maybe... I skimmed the first 5 pages and figured out there are no fucks given. Well on my part. The laws on marijuana cultivation never meant anything to me and they really still don't. I'm not changing anything I do or how many plants I grow. Sounds stupid probably. But if I didn't care when it was illegal, why am I going to start now.. I'm especially not going to be the idiot who tells everyone I know "I'm growing weed" just cuz it's legal

Hahaha no doubt,I started growing before it was legal ,I just pulled it out of the closet, and aimed for bigger spaces .

The only part that matters... on page 30 of 30

The initiated bill allows a person 21 years of age or older to use, possess or transport marijuana accessories and up to 2 1/2 ounces of prepared marijuana; transfer or furnish, without remuneration, up to 2 1/2 ounces of marijuana and up to 6 immature plants or seedlings to a person who is 21 years of age or older; possess, grow, cultivate, process or transport up to 6 flowering marijuana plants, 12 immature marijuana plants and unlimited seedlings, and possess all the marijuana produced by the marijuana plants at that person's residence; purchase up to 2 1/2 ounces of marijuana and marijuana accessories from a Page 30 retail marijuana store; and purchase up to 12 marijuana seedlings or immature marijuana plants from a retail marijuana cultivator. It allows the home cultivation of marijuana for personal use of up to 6 flowering marijuana plants by a person 21 years of age or older. The initiated bill allows a person to consume marijuana in a nonpublic place including a private residence. It provides that the prohibitions and limitations on smoking tobacco products in specified areas as provided by law apply to smoking marijuana and that a person who smokes marijuana in a public place other than as governed by law commits a civil violation for which a fine of not more than $100 may be adjudged. The initiated bill places a sales tax of 10% on retail marijuana and retail marijuana products
