I used to fish with my cousin from 10-20 years old. When he drowned I lost interest in it. Everytime I'd go out would just remind me. The day he drown I was supposed to be there but went with a girl to hang out instead. So he went with another guy he knew and drown running a net to clear a pond of snappers.

Sorry to hear that man.

we were out on a foot of black ice 2 weeks ago up north....around here the small lakes are up to a foot as well, but the big lakes are 4"
Right on yeah a little lakes around here the little ponds that pretty much are all private access they got more ice on them but the bigger lakes that you could walk across taking 10 minutes LoL they still have open water in the middle..

But I was able to catch some salmon late last year when the salmon run came through I hooked into a lot of fish but I brought home only 2 not bad for a day trip it was a lot of fun.
I love your pics you sent man that's some great fishing right there
I'm going to try steelhead fishing on the 27th of this month my sister passed away and I have to go to Wisconsin for the funeral and I'm driving over there.
I thought on my way back I would try my hand at a steelhead fishing up on the west side of Michigan on a few of the rivers that are over there like the Allegan River or the st.joe maybe give them a try on the way home
or some other's.
I'm going to have my camper on the truck fully equipped and heated so maybe I'll stay a day or so extra.

sorry about the loss of you sister.

I was thinking about trying to get some steelhead and salmon through the ice this year, but i doubt the water will freeze the way the season is going (lake huron)
Likely rainbows will have to hold off until last saturday in april for me....walleye, whitefish, burbot, northern pike, jumbo perch, brook trout, black crappie to be caught in the next 2 months!!

Opposite hemispheres...photos in winter here are a no fly. How about best outdoor auto by year's end? I'm going to be in outdoor battle for sure but only have 10hrs daylight on your longest day!
