Hello.

First post here. Hoping I can get some help with a spare driver I have laying around I'd like to put to use.

The driver in question is a Meanwell HLG-240h-c1050a.'

I would like to pair it with some sort of Horticulture Lighting Group LED boards if possible, to go inside of a 70x70cm tent.

Don't know a whole lot about watts or amps or anything like that, so struggling a bit. I'm thinking 2x QB96 may work just slightly under powered?

Thanks for the help in advanced.

What you are contemplating is dangerous if you are not a qualified electrician. You can burn your house down or get electrocuted.

Drivers and lights must be matched properly and wired properly Parallel or in series? Your driver is not recommended for those boards.

We must have a lot of electricians making DIY lights around here lol

Yep and we have had some fires along the way!

Well clearly im not an idiot and was looking for more information before undertaking any fires... :rolleyes1:

I did happen to see it recommends to use the hlg-120h-c1050a to drive two boards. So does that mean I can safely strap 4 of these to my 240 or will they be greatly under powered and no longer practical?

Just my thoughts. No need to be rude to newcomers. Not everyone burns their house down due to stupidity... Just because someone is not highly educated in a certain area does not mean they are stupid.

Man0 I disagree somewhat, you dont need to be an electrician to hook up leds, just familiar with electronics. You're not dealing with anything on the A.C side of things. I've worked in electronics manufacturing for 10+ years now building and testing and I'm sure not an electrician. The only electrician any of the light Co's hire are the ones that come in and work on the building they are in.

That being said @mdigi you still need to learn your shit or you can start a fire. Even with experience and a journeyman ticket I still blow shit up the odd time and start a good smoke show. So do proceed with caution. Check out GrowMau5 vids on you tube. He we walk you though everything you need to know about pairing your driver to your leds, how to wire them and select a heatsink. There is hours worth of content that you need to learn and understand.
