Perlite Plantit is this suitable for growing ?

Would i need to mix it ?

You could do a hempy bucket and grow in it or mix it with soil either way it looks good

A hempy bucket is just a bucket filled with perlite that has a drainage hole an inch or two up from the bottom,(you can search hempy bucket on here and it will give you the proper run down of what's involved) but if you are new to growing I would go with soil.

My recipe for growing soil is

60% soil Ph 6.5
30% perlite
10% vermiculite

That's the basic mix

I also supplement my soil with 1 tablespoon of bat Guano per 8 litres(2 gallons)
1 powdered eggshell per 8 litres
And half a cup of sand per 8 litres

Ive heard of them before but just wanted to make sure . What soil would you recommend ? Would most multi purpose compost work ok ? I was thinking of 50% soil 50% perlite mix to start with as i dont want to do much to it as I want it to work .

ps your dog looks like it is having a better time than any of us lol

Most multipurpose compost has a high Ph about 7.3 so it causes issues when they start flowering.

And you don't really want anything with added miracle grow or any other slow release fertiliser.

If you want to keep it simple then get a bag of ericatious compost and a bag of seedling soil and mix them 50/50 this should give you a good Ph and eradicate unwanted nutes, then mix this soil 50/50 with perlite and you should be good.

What nutrients are you planning on using?

When your dog is a little older he can get wasted with my one!

I have an ikon oxy pot also but i want to grow in a soil medium too incase my hydroponic system fails.

The nutrients I got for my hydroponic is Vitalink Blossom Boom A & B.

What nutrients do you recommend for soil growth ?

i use bio bizz grow and bloom

i also suppliment with unsulphered molasses. i feed them molasses from abot week 4 -5 and only every other feed. i use 1 teaspoon of mollasses per litre of feed

i am a bit of an organic nut, part of the reason i started to grow was because there was a lot of shit in the weed for a while things like glass, sand and chemical spray, so i only use what nature provides and i know exactly whats in my weed no man made stuff at all.

what lighting do you have?

i recommend you get a soil ph meter if you are making up a mix, you can get cheap ones from any garden centre but make sure you clean it with a scouring pad before each use to get an accurate reading. getting this right in the begining saves you a lot of headaches later on.

Must get myself some bio bizz grow and bloom to add to my perlite. Not worrying too much about nutrients as i have only started to germinate my betty boo lowryder seeds . But i will bare in mind your tips on feeding . When you feed do you add the supplement to the water and how often do you water the plant?

Im using HPS 400W Ballister and a grow tent 1.2x1.2x2.0

Will my light be ok to use from start to finish of growth ?

I have a ph meter for water ordered will this do for soil aswell or will i have to buy one specifically for soil?
