After 15 days, this little 'girl' is starting to take off but I'm noticing a couple of little 'nubs' starting to form at the base of the first node. Zoomed in, it kind of looks like another set of leaves forming kind of like how a tomato grows suckers but I'm pretty sure that cannabis doesn't grow this way.. (I could be totally wrong) ..Being that this is my first attempt at autos, I'm wondering if any of you might be willing to offer up a possible explanation. Thanks!

Looks like normal growth to me.

Thanks for the input, Man. I've heard all kinds of stories how autos can hermie under stress and as much as I like to think I'm providing the best possible environment I still tend to second guess myself. Thanks again!

What kind of stress did you subject them too?

The first stress scare was realizing (several days later) that when I had put the seedling into the Waterfarm that the tap root (which wasn't very long) was kind of hooked off to one side from it sitting in the germination tray. The second scare was realizing that the light was about 7 inches lower than the lowest suggested height for a seedling. Whether or not either of those caused any stress to the plant is unknown but they certainly did a number on me. All bouts of stress aside, this is a lot of fun and I really look forward to a much smoother run next time.

There is a steep learning curve but it does get easier. I don't think either of those incidents will cause you any issues, Genetics, nutrients way out of wack, temps way too high, bad insect invasion are some common stressors that might cause a hermie. Photoperiod plants herime as easily as photos especially if it is in the genetics of the plant to do so.

The learning curve is steep but it hasn't proven deadly. Fortunately, I stumbled upon TaNg's popular feeding schedule so the only real headache has been adapting it to use in a RDWC system. I'm taking lots notes and the basic guidelines for the next run are pretty much in place.

What nutrients are you using?

I just went and looked at your thread. IMPO your planed flush is way too long 3 days max in hydro. Also going 10 days before a refresh is only ok for the first 10 days after that every 7 days is best. It gets really expensive using those high dollar nutrients and that is why I am running GreenLeaf and NPK Ind. I went from $500.00 of House and Garden to $50.00 to grow out six plants. My quality has actually gone up but that is most likely do to the addition of UVA lights.
