What's up AFN, this is Keith from Black Sail (www.BlackSailMarket.com). We're a brand new lighting company, and The Cannon is our flagship product!

At full power The Cannon pulls approximately 240 watts at the wall (only 46% of the COB's maximum rated wattage) and maintains an outstanding efficiency of 2.0umol/J.

The core of our 220mm heatsink is cooled by convection current. At full power they sit at about 120 degrees fahrenheit, 100% passively. That's cool enough to hold! We posted temperature/wattage tests on Instagram here:

The Cannon is powered by a MeanWell HLG-240H-C2100A, we spared no expense! Each fixture is independently dimmable down to 50% (~120 Watts).

The Cannon comes with a driver mount on top of the heatsink:

And we hook you up with 6 feet of connector wire so you can run it remotely:

Every Cannon is built by hand, and each step is handled with severe OCD. We solder solid-core tips onto the connector wires, so they're extra clean and the solderless connectors hold onto them with a kung fu death grip:

Thermal pads are fast, convenient, and shitty at distributing heat. Here at Black Sail we only use thermal paste:

Our 3D-printed reflectors are designed to focus the light at the very edges while maintaining the wide spread you need for an even canopy. We print them in two layers, made from temperature resistant Taulman 910 nylon filament:

Here's a side by side comparison of the spread with and without the reflector:

Here's the breakdown of our prices, including dollars/watt:

1 Pack: $349, that's $1.45/watt

2 Pack: $675, that's $1.41/watt

3 Pack: $975, that's $1.35/watt

4 Pack: $1249, that's $1.30/watt

One of our first crewmembers is doing a showcase grow. One light, one plant, no bullshit. We'll be posting updates here, or you can check it out on IG @BlackSailFarm. If you have any questions hit me up at Keith@BlackSailMarket.com. Thanks for reading!

What’s the foot print u can grow under it.

If you want maximum growth rates and yields you can cover a 2.5' x 2.5' with one Cannon. You can push it out to a 2.5' x 3' without losing too much speed.

A good guideline to go by when you're using top shelf COBs is 37.5 watts per square foot.

Hey man, that's a very cool light.

What chip are you using and what is the efficacy?

And dimming, how is that done, with a screwdriver or a potentiometer knob and is that included?

Very COOL heatsink, nice package

Really 37.5 watts per sq ft, my average watt per sq. ft. in one of my 16 sq ft. is 18.75 watts per sq ft and the big space 84 sq ft is even less that just a tad over 9.25 watts per sq ft and I grow some big plants under that wattage. :shrug:I'm a noob but seems like a big difference in wattage from what my current wattage per sq ft.

Cant wait to see this in action @SOOTDAWG when ya firing this baby up and how big is your space for testing

Thanks man! The efficacy at full power (240 watts) is 2.0umol/J.

The HLG-240H-C2100A has a phillips head screw recessed in its face with a cap over it. So yeah you just turn the screw to adjust the current, down to 50% power. I've definitely thought about it but I'm not including the screw driver atm. I can set it to 200 watts or whatever you want before I ship it, otherwise it'll come set at 240 watts.

I went with the A version because HLG drivers 240 and below don't turn off from the dimming signal, they only go to 10%. The A version goes to 50% (120 watts) which is a comfortable level for working in the garden. Dimming from 50% to 10% isn't useful enough to warrant the added cost of a potentiometer.

I'm waiting another month or two before I put out the exact model of the chip, this is a tough industry and I want to get a running start. My specs are 100% on point, you could actually use them to figure out what COB I'm using. Here at Black Sail fucking around with specs will get you keel-hauled:smoking:
