Interesting Issue !

Well, what a pain in the ass all the way around, I guess this is as good a place as any for this story, as I am a new grower.
we were burglarized this morning, all that was taken was some of the wife's pain meds and some jewelry and the
LAST OF MY SMOKE ! (it could have been much worse though)
BUT, we had to call the police, and I live in a weed non-friendly state.
So, I moved all 5 plants, in flower, out to a storage building, did a good cleaning in the grow room, and some air freshening.
police came, got a report, no issues, whew......
plants back in place !
Not laughing yet, But one day, maybe

That sucks. Anyway, @jaywillin glad to hear that the police didn't get after you for the plants. Had they run into them, they likely would have been obliged to apply the law whether or not they liked to do it. Good for you for not putting them to that test. Most of them are just doing their jobs, and I suspect many of them don't like the laws about personal growing and use.

With care, you are unlikely to have a problem with police. The main risk is either pissing a neighbour off and having them drag in the police, or having someone rip you off again because now they know.

I'd be tempted to set up a trap of some sort for the thief. He He. Maybe a bag of hemp buds with zero THC. If it were not for the mess left behind, some bear spray at eye level triggered by some sort of trip wire. Entertaining thoughts about how the get the sob.

Glad to hear that the plants are back in place anyway, and good luck with the rest of the grow, not to mention the harvest and hanging on to it.
