I'm obviously already going to be putting in an extraction fan and carbon filter to eliminate smell as much as possible but I was also thinking about an intake fan and airfilter...
Is this something anyone else is using and does it prevent dust build-up and keep some bugs out?
Old House and humid sea air here so I can just see how bugs would LOVE to be living in my warm tent here during the winter.

I doubt you'll need an intake fan - It could prevent you getting negative pressure which is what you'll need for the carbon filter to be effective.

You could use some tights to stop the bugs getting in your intake hole ^_^ ..

I was thinking about tights against bugs alright, if that's enough it will save me a few quid compared to buying an intake fan.

Also for the lfying variety of bugs (well ...flies .. and wasps) .. I use fly strips. They work very well at keeping them off my plants! ^_^

Why not just use a regular or, if needed, finer screen covering your air intake? "Tights" or stockings might be too fine (too much resistance). Some cheap replacement plastic screening likely available at local hardware stores should work well enough (whatever screening works currently in your windows).

Why do you see need for an intake fan, presuming your exhaust/filter fan has power/air-flow in the recommended range?

Presuming some insects will always get in somehow, use a Bt toxin product, even 'mosquito dunks,' to kill any larvae that the insects lay.

@BII

Maybe I'm just over thinking it and don't need it....more likely that is it lol

Skip the intake fan, your extractor will do that work for you automaticly. my intake is just a duct somewhere. A type of small screen could be good if you have bug issues

I have two tents, small one for clones and little veg whole the big one is for flowering. I use one extractor router through both of them. Pulls plenty of fresh air into both spaces.

Someone posted using air conditioner filter material for window air conditioners. I was going to give it a try myself.
