Hi Folks,

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I'd just like to know whether I need to place this extractor fan before or after the bulb/cooltube. I am experiencing quite high temps in my grow space and I need the best possible solution to draw the hot air out via the cooltube. With the use of aluminium ducting I am going to be attaching the below fan as it's very powerful and exactly what I need.

Any input would be very appreciated.

Thanks.

Here's a nice image, although i partially disagree with the passive air take having to be on that side. It'll work fine, but if it were the other side, the fan is drawing air from the carbon filer and will actively suck it up from that direction - so if the passive intake is on the other side at the bottom (and the carbon filter is at the top opposite) it will be drawing cool air from the intake and natural flow past your plants to the filter to be scrubbed and then through the cool tube to cool - then out the cab to exhaust.

Hope this helps ^_^

Thanks for that! My passive intake is a 6" Fan at the bottom of my growdrobe between 2 plants so that they're getting the cool fresh air directly. (Pic below)

Here is my growdrobe cooltube setup. On the right, it has a 13w fan connected to the cooltube, which sucks in the air from the ducting from the back of the growdrobe. On the left hand side, this is where the hot air is extracted and taken up through the ceiling via ducting through the back of the growdrobe. Should I place the extractor on this side?

Thanks in advance!

P.S I don't worry about carbon filter as smell isn't an issue where I am.

Ah I see what you mean. It's a bit wonky lol

You need a slight re-design, but a really easy one.
The Hole in the left top can stay and put your fan in between the light and the hole (air pushing towards the hole)

Cover up that right hole and remove the ducting.

Put a hole in the bottom of the cab for the fan to suck up from (not fan needed at bottom intake ... just a hole)

The force of the air pulling through the cool tube will lower the temps.

Keep the ducting as tight and straight as possible with tight sealing around the cooltube

Still keep the movement fan to make your girls sway! :D

Hope this is what you're looking for!

OK. Thanks very much. Appreciate it. So I should place the extractor fan on left side of the cooltube?

yep, pulling air over the hot bulb and out of room.like in the pic from blue only you not using a filter,so there is nothing on the right side of cooltube.

Great! Thanks very much!
