If you just want a one plant system, i'd do what I did and get an oxy-pot. You can pick up a whole kit on ebay fairly cheaply. It was my first time doing DWC too, I went for General Hydroponics Flora series 3-Part nutriends (grow, micro, and bloom) as its fairly easy to feed and seems to have very good results without the need for any additional nutes.
As for feeding schedule, you want to start off with a 1/4 strength diluted mixture when your plant is small, and gradually work your way up to the full strength as its gets bigger, without seeing signs of nute burn. You'll want to fill you DWC bucket up until about an inch away from your netpot (touching netpot if roots not yet visible) with the water and nutrient solution, and change it maybe every 7-10 days depending on your growing conditions, meanwhile topping the water level up with nutrient and water solution to keep it the same level as the plant drinks.
The hardest part about DWC i guess being having to keep on top of your PH and EC for nutrient solution, along with having to wash the whole pot and system every res change to keep slime and other nasty things away. If your conditions are optimal and fairly consistent, you will get the hang of how much your PH and EC varies, and through that will know how often to check it, i personally sometimes to it twice a day, or sometimes 2-3 times a week.
Good luck man
