New Grower Info about Counting Nodes?

Noob question here...

Do you count the first two single leaves as the first node? Not the cotyledons, but the first single leaves? I feel pretty certain that the ones on my plants are gonna shrivel up, and I am planning to FIM. Here is a pic of one of my babies.. Help me out a bit.. She is showing her 4th set of non cotyledon leaves, so would the spot where they connect to the plant be the 4th node, or the 3rd? Spell it out for me, gurus!

the spot on the main branch where 2 more branchs come out is the first node. so if you top on 1st node you get 2 colas, 2nd node 4 colas, 3rd node 6 colas... and so on. now if you fim on 3rd node you will have your normal 6 colas plus another 2 to 4. depending how accurate your fim job is. hope that helps bro
