Indoor In the Rasters of My 4 by 4

And Wikipedia reports differently:

"A trade gallon is a unit of volume for standard plant containers in the horticultural industries. It equals 3 US liquid quarts or 0.75 US gallons."

So I suspect there are no real industry standards here, to put it mildly.

Regarding pot sizes, as Google cites:

"Turns out there are “gallons” and then there are nursery “trade gallons” which are approximately equal to 0.71 of a regular gallon."

I'v also seen it stated that "gallon" sizes are based on pot diameter, e.g. 12 inches = 5 gallons; 14 inch = 7 gallons, etc.

Always look at pot size actual dimensions (and calculate the volume), not the marked- or rounded-up single integer gallon count claimed.
Good call - now I know a little bit more about the why, so :thanks: . I think in the future I'll stick to hardware store buckets unless I encounter a new, cool kind of pot of course. :laughcry:

My Namkading is bushing up nicely. She didn't stretch as much as I expected on 12s, but there are a lot of colas still stretching.

This is from the alumni - among the first group in this 4x4. I think. Anyway if you've been following along from the start, you'll remember this Purple Canyon Detroit pheno. It's been a couple of months and she's matured. I also got these terpene boost packs for free at a trade show.

My wife said, "Did you grow this?" I don't know how much the Boost Bc pack contributed to the cure, but it's a good cure. Two hits off the delicious bud in the picture, and I forgot what I was doing for a bit.

Here's some more Detroit...

To quote a famously-annoying New Zealand clam oil pill commercial,

I can't tell you how good it feels! This stuff really works! (I'm talking about the Purple Canyon, not the Boost. But I'll let you know.)

I've really got things crammed in there, and decided to explore defoliation. I'm starting with three, and if that works out I'll do the whole tent.

Greenpoint Seeds' Ponderosa Cookies day 21.

So the Chemdogging harvest didn't last long. I rolled up a doob for my wife. I was using a roller and I nailed the amount. Just like I always do. Reached into the jar, threw another bud on the tray, set the jar down, picked up the jar, looked at this:

I'm sorry for the poor photo quality, but I think you get the picture. There's not even a pinner in that detritus' future.

But I already had at that second bud. And let me tell you, that girl was fine! Just fine!

Why wouldn't it - my Ponderosa Cookies hermed. I've been away from my ladies since Wednesday on a Thanksgiving trip. I usually take all the pots out and check them every morning, and when I grabbed the Pondo cookies I saw dust fall. I shook her again - more dust.

So I looked at her fan leaves with pollen and worked my way up to the male flower, hiding out underneath a female flower.

Hopefully nothing got seeded but it did. :sadcry:

I've been wanting to try this for awhile. I've been hoping this cola would get too close to the light so I could cut it and see what happens to the rest of the plant.

I figure a couple more inches and she'd start bleaching. Here's the after picture. I didn't cut much.

Look at this beautiful young Scorpion Candy bud! Day 36, or as I like to call it, exactly halfway to harvest.
