Hi good people. I got a weird watering situation going on right now. And I'm really baffled.
I am in week 4 1/2 with 3 plants. (fastbuds Orange Sherbet)
I have been giving them a gallon of water a day the past week, I think that is around 1.2 liter each.
I do the heave ho test, I do the finger test, I also check them with a soil moisture meter, and their bone dry within 24 hours.
Yet after watering my leaves droop, as if their being over watered for about 1/2 a day, then their up and perky for 1/2 a day.
I never had a situation like this. I get all the signs they need watered from the soil, yet after watering they act like they are over watered.
This is new territory for me, I never had my soil dry out so fast this early in a grow. I don't know if it's the strain or maybe I used too much perlite, but I don't get run off after watering.
Should I not have droopy leaves telling me its time to water?, should I hold off watering until my leaves start to droop, then water? Or am I ok, and just stay the course.

I think you're probably okay.
It sounds like the plant is just drinking lots to me. If you dont get run off when you're hand watering, and you want run off.. i'd wait for the pot to settle and then slowly water some more until you see a trickle from the bottom.

Are you watering the same time of day each time?
Have you seen a time lapse grow before? The leaves naturally droop and perk up daily - I assume it's their resting time.

Hi Blue, yes I water them about 2 hours before lights out. I have them on a 20/4 schedule. 12 a.m. til 4 a.m. is their dark time. I get up for work at 4 a.m. so 10 at night is the best I can do, as far as watering them close to lights out time.

That sounds like it's it .. it just coincides with their resting time.
And as it's not staying droopy for ages, its not over watered.

If the plant looks fine and well, then i'd just carry on!

Thanks Blue. I was just concerned cause after watering the leaves drop like a rock, as if I killed them, then the next morning they look like this, which I think if good.

Droopy leaves can be caused by over watering as well.......look at the leaves AND their stems......if leaf and stem droop, not enough water to keep cells turgid (hard) both will droop....if just the leaf droops but it's stem id straight out...too much water and the leaf can't transpire fast enough to get rid of excess..
Those are looking fine as far as water, seems to be some lightening up between the veins that might need to be watched.

I will pay close attention to that tip tonight, ty for the tip.

Try stretching it out to every other day and bumping it up to 1.5 ltr each......last top water I did it was sometimes 4 days in between, then into the shoer, water/nutes till a bit of run off, then back in the tent.
