Terple,
Hi,

I was just wondering what are the ideal humidity levels for autoflowering cannabis plants? I have a current grow that's been 40% RH the entire grow and they seem to be doing just fine. Is it really so crucial to buy a humidifier so I can get an extra 10% of humidity during the veg phase?

My understanding comes from these words which I've seen quoted in different corners of the online cannabis community. If they're true than you should be safe.

"Humidity can be between 20/50 the entire grow, too high and you could lose your entire crop to bud rot."

Through the use of a VPD Chart you can grasp a general idea of ideal temperature and humidity. Running low humidity isn't necessarily a bad thing but it can affect how much water your plants transpire and how quickly it occurs.

Low humidity can affect the uptake of calcium and reduce tolerance to heat. Personally I believe a quality humidifier is an investment with no draw backs to having in the grow room. VPD works optimally in sealed rooms using c02 with an infrared temperature gun to obtain leaf surface temperature. However even without c02 it's only going to help you grow better plants as they'll do everything more efficiently with proper environmental parameters.

Plus maintaining optimal conditions as frequently as possible will allow you to grow vigorous healthy plants that will be able to better defend against PM in an environment that won't be enabling pathogens or mold.

RH is one of the important factors in a grow and the plant requires different RH at different stages ..... I suppose if you were going to goof, better you goof on the low RH side verses growing in high humidity .....

Simple Rule is @hecno grows start at 60% and finish around 45% ....... If you wanna get more dialed in follow VPD Chart such @FTF_damien50 suggests - I have a copy of the chart next to my tent and try to follow but generally I’m off a little here or there .......

IMO invest in the humidifier!
