New Grower I probably should have waited until fall...

Thanks Froot! It's almost bitter sweet chopping them down!
It is not over yet. A slow dry and proper cure will put the finishing touch on this long arse grow. Do you have little hygrometers for your jars?

I have a dozen of these really cheap hygrometers. Put them in a jar with a Boveda Pack and after a day sort them by the numbers real quick and mark them +/- or right on. I think 6 were right on the others read high or low. I took marking paint and put orange lines to subtract or green to add. For example if a gauge read low by two points I put 2 green lines on it so I know to add two points to the readout.

Nice tip MOG. I will definitely pick a few of those hygrometers up, and do just that.

It takes a while to get them from china. If you need to you can pick up a couple locally and move them from jar to jar.

Trichomes are almost all cloudy on both plants, with the GG having some clear, and the CP having just a couple ambers. Next weekend is flush and chop. I am targeting harvest with the GG should be at 5-10% amber, and the CP at about 20%.

First trichomes pick is the GG, and the second is CP. love how the CP buds are taking on a purple hue. GG is continuing to frost up. Buds still fattening on both plants. Very happy with this first grow. It has been long as hell, but looks like I should be rewarded with a nice bounty of some very good high grade!

So, as the time gets closer, I have been doing a lot of research and reading on the trim process, trying to decide how I want to go about my first harvest. At first, wet trimming seemed like the way to go, since it seems to be the easiest and quickest to trim and manicure when I can easily separate leaves from bud.

Reading more though, I have decided to go with a dry trim, to slow down the drying process as much as possiblle. There is also a pretty consistent thought that doing this more quickly transforms the smell from chlorophyll to strain specific. It may add another week to the cure, but shoot, I've already waited 130 days!

What I am now researching is whether to hang the plant whole, or cut in branches. Again, hanging whole can add a couple more days even, but may result in better smelling and tasting bud, and shorten the cure process, since it would be curing in the cabinet.

Interested in hearing what you guys do and why?

There is also a salt test you can do to find out how much they are off, if you dont have bovedas
