If I could use the ones found on Ebay like this one, I would be nice. However I have a feeling it will not work.:toke:

In my country it seems to be around 250 Euro for soil and around 100 Euro for water. Can I come out of it cheaper but still with accurate results?

Maybe Amazon has one that is trustworthy, cheap AND accurate?

Man this seems to be the topic tonight. Sweet. You could buy fifty of those 3in1 testers and you'd still be screwed IMO. Those are crap, you get what you pay for. I got you though. Both really really good for about $200 or 168 Euro. But you'll be set.

Here's the soil tester.>http://www.horticulturesource.com/control-wizard-control-wizard-accurate-ph-8-p3015/

Here's the liquid digital all in one test meter>http://www.horticulturesource.com/p...6004/?osCsid=6ece6e1a76b8802a5992562beb0cbe49

Oh right, make sure you get some storage solution and calibration solution.
Storage for keeping the electrode on the end of the digital meter wet at ALL times of storage in between use. Just follow the directions when you get it, read everything.
The calibration solutions are for...? Yep. Calibrating the meter. I do a two point calibration, but one is ok. Stuff like this>http://www.plantlightinghydroponics...ration-ess-storage-kit-oz-tripack-p-1685.html

If you can't afford the second meter, then you can get the version from the same company that just tests ph and temp instead of ph, temp, and ppm.
Here's that one>http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/hanna-grochek-phep4-phtemperature-tester-p-435.html

That one is from a different site. Also a good site, and that particular meter is much cheaper there.

Hope this helps.

I got myself one of those soil testers. Not exactly that one weedlife but close by. The best description I can give you is they suck. I use it now for readig the soil moisture but even with that I'm still not trusting it. Get a good ph meter, digital one for preference.

Thanks, Squid.

I liked the price for the soil one and will probably buy that one. The water one was expensive so if anyone have a cheaper but still accurate alternative to that one, let me know :)

I am not a cheap Charlie when it comes to my babies - I just am a cheap Charlie - period:D

The problem with soil meters weedlife, you have to avoid the hurting the roots everytime you stick it on the pot to test for the ph. If you have more than one plant imagine the hassle... This things are good if you have it outdoors in your garden.

If you only need to check the ph You can have a relatively cheap ph meter for 15€/$18. I would, however, aim for 30€ with Hanna instruments, because they'll give you THAT credibility. Check their website. They have plenty of solutions for cheap Charlies like us. :)

Did not think about that, Hugo. I would of course not want to hurt the root system.

Maybe just a water PH meter will do it and I can check the soil aproximately from the run of I would assume?

The 30 Euro price was great. I will look for Hanna instruments. thank you.

Well, it is time to sleep if I dare to. Had nightmare about my plants dying on me two times the last week:crying:

:bong: and good night.

i would suggest just buying Advanced Nutrients line of Ph Perfect Technology!!! Ditch that piece o' garbage meter man you get your moneys worth big time with a two-in-one product.

I have bought AN pH perfect series and I am using this now. My tap water is 6.8 and 25 PPM. When I mix AN in the water it ends up in 5.8 and for soil growing it is best to be in the 6.2 - 6.5 area. Now, I thought that AN would do something to the mix while in the soil, but after borrowing a PH meter for soil it showed 5.5 - 5.6 readings for two days now. I have now watered them with PH 7 water with no nutes and the soil are back in 6.2 - 6.3.

I will of course still use the AN products as they are definitely the best on the market by far. I guess I just PH the water so it is 6.5 when I throw it in the soil.

The word of the jungle says that with AN PH perfect your plants will grow just as well, even outside of the PH range but this has not yet been confirmed. I did notice that in the three days my girls had low PH and their first feeding they did a small explosion in growth and some of them took 8 cm gap in 3 days (not kidding). Yesterday the tallest one was 83 cm and today I bet it is 86 cm. It was today they got the clean water and the PH raised.

I will actually make a thread about this one. I am curious if they will grow in soil with a PH of 5.6+ with AN PH perfect like the jungle word are stating or if I should just PH up the solution to 6.5 before throwing it in the soil.
