I have this so far.. what do I need now?

I've noticed a few tiny bugs in the dirt.. hmmm. What can I do about that?
Also, do I have the light at the right height? One of the seedlings is reaching for the sky.

Or is it lack of water?.. though, I spritz them thoroughly three times a day. But this is what it looked like the day before:

What do you think?
And here is the other one tonight:

And here it is yesterday:

And about the light.. is this too high?

What's the proper height?
So, I received the greenleaf megacrop.
Btw, I'm spritzing spring water.
Is there anything else during this stage that I should be doing other than the fans, spritzing three times a day and 18/6 lighting?
I’m no expert so do not sure if I’m right but by spraying water directly on the seedlings like that, the droplets act like magnifying glasses causing the leaves to shrivel and also prevents them from transpiring properly. You should water the soil, in a circle around the seedling, about an inch or 2 away from the stem so that the roots are encouraged to grow out in search of water. Also if you start spraying nutes directly on to a seedlings leaves you run a risk of nute burning them as those little leaves cannot handle it.

Bugs are never a good thing. I keep diatomaceous earth and No Pest strips for that problem. Gotta wonder where the bugs originated. Most are in the soil when purchased.

Spring water in our area (SE USA) run 8+ ph so I only use DI for 3-4weeks with no nutes ....never have a ph problem.

I veg everything 3-4 weeks under T5HO, 24/0 before moving to a blooming tent. Imo...seedlings have no need to rest. Of course, t5 can be within a couple inches...

My best asset for growing has been patience.

@ZoSo I run my lights at 36 in and let the plant grow into it . 450 watts . Lighting 20/4 To give

Now I'm being told not to use the tent? Wtf...
I was never told to get anything for bugs. I also didn't know not to spray the leaves. The bugs were in the dirt? I should be using distilled when I was told not to? Are they dying? Can anyone please address what I posted?

Water the entire pot only when needed ~50% moist. I don't get seedlings wet just keep humidity up in the tent ~60% when they are young lower to 55% after a couple of weeks. They will be ok unless the first one has mold. I cannot tell for sure from the picture. That light could run as low as 24" but just watch your plants. If the start to get leggy (too tall) lower the light. Be sure to have air circulation not blowing directly on plants but moving the air around softly in the tent.

Who says not to use a tent? Why?

Señor O’green had same info I was typing! U don’t want the lil ones like that getting soggy cuz it can cause stem rot n you’ll wake up and thing will be bent over at the waist with its head in the dirt! I would most just couple sprays onto top (leafs) and then put dome over it! When u do spray couple sprays of water into dome so it’ll keep moisture inside for humidity! Then actual water just do a circle ring using outside of bottle using for dome as your radius! That way the roots can search out the water! Also do u have a pm or ec meter?? Some soils can be nute heavy where can burn seedlings easy! If u have pen can test it to see! Also are the bugs a size where u can see what they look like with naked eye?? Do they fly or just crawling in dirt right now? May be fungus gnats if soil staying too damp! Also YES bugs can come in the bag! Saw toooons of people complaining about same issue with fox farms off amazon! No telling how long been sitting around or where! If u have bugs tho now is time to get to work killing em! They make yellow sticky cards that attract gnats and not expensive! Ok sorry saw few questions so rambling but if I think of anything else will add to this! :smoking:

My mistake about the tent, but all these short hand terms and manipulating the humidity.. I don't know. I was told to keep the domes on for just a few days, but now it seems that I should keep them on longer. I understand trial and error and all, but as long as there is consistency with what I'm working with.
Up until last night I thought the spring water was all it needed and no checking the soil for nothing at this early of stage. Now it seems crucial and yes I have the whole list of stuff man o green said to get.. everything. I put the domes back on.
Sorry for the bad pics and obvious frustration, but it seems like I'll be starting over with some fresh seeds, idk.

U only need domes on for like 3-4 days once standing up! After that u are good to go! And I know humidity can be crucial but these 4 I put in my closet cuz my 2x4 tent has 6 already and is overflowing and humidity only sits like 45-55% & no problems! U wanna keep it in range later towards flower but will prob need dehumidifier before anything! My tent can still hit 60-65% when I zip my tent using dehumidifier and no issues but if u can keep it 40-50% you’ll be safer but that’s waaaay down the line! For now just make sure not using any nutrients and don’t over water and they’ll grow outta that! Those leafs will stay yellow so dont stress there! It’s the new growth u wanna keep an eye on! Maybe test soil ec/ppm just so u know if it’s heavy but no reversing it now so just so u know for him next time! Instead of flushing if hot soil just use plain seedling soil about top 1/3 or so! Then roots get established better cuz will grow to search out the nutrients it needs! Here’s 26 days in my bedroom closet & 1/2 is still filled with clothes!

Any other questions just ask! Good luck :smoking:

Take the domes off or you may have mold problems. Try to get the ambient RH up to between 40% and 60%.

Mr O’Green will steer u right! :smoking:

Don't you just love the internet; so much information, and so many different opinions:thumbsup:

To be honest, you cant just say "tell me how to grow" everyone has different environments and do things differently :shrug:two completely different ways will give 100% success to different people

I actually don't do much of what you have, such as; I don't flush the pots a couple times, just a regular watering day before sowing to get all the soil moist,
I don't use a humidity dome for my seedlings, it's humid enough here in the summer or in my tent this winter,
I dont spray them directly either, I just water the soil around them,
And I just use my tap water, not spring or distilled,
All these differences and the seedling is only days above soil!!

Checking the soil was suggested to see how much nutrients are in your soil already, as a way to determine why your seedlings look burnt, or if it's from the water droplets magnifying the light,
And Yep, you are probably going to be manipulating humidty, again depending on your climate, have you turned on your thermo/hygrometer yet? What's your tent sitting at?
And as for no-one advising you to buy pest management? you just can't plan for everything,

Not really sure what you were expecting buddy, growing indoors means trying to re-create nature, don't start getting frustrated with everyone, this is what you asked for, there is no right or wrong way to grow, we all promote what brings us the most success, sometimes being the exact opposite of the next guy, that's what makes this site great, "unbiased, critical discussion"
take a step back, read some stuff, tonnes of info around here, and list some of YOUR info so people with similar conditions or experiences can help you,
Happy growing and :goodluck:
