Indoor humidity dome

I just received my humidity dome and heat pad in the mail. Should I use this for my autos? What about the starter plugs? The heat pad? Should I transplant from dome into final home? Any other info on these durn contraptions would be most welcomed.

Hey Mcdoogle! The humidity dome and heat pad are great tools and you should definately use them for your autos. I have 2 jiffy humidity domes and heat pads and they work. Do you have the jiffy model or another make? I use the jiffy plugs and sometimes jiffy seedstarter mix in little cups. Soak your plugs until they are moist and expand-not wringing wet-just moist mind you. Pop your seed in the plug about 1/4" down,cover it up and pop it in the humidity dome. I usually plug in the heat mat and let it warm up while i'm expanding the plugs and planting the seeds. You can put the seeds direct into the plugs OR i soak my seed in warm water for 24 hours till they crack and show tails and then place them in the plugs. Fastest i've had seeds sprout above dirt is 24 hours and longest time is 7 days-average 2-3 days. When the first sprouts appear above dirt i prop the dome open with a wooden spoon to get a little air in there and i let them stay in the dome for 24 hours or so before i move them into party cups. There are a lot of growers that use those and swear by them, and others that do not. I think they are pretty cool, but I don't have one myself. Using it for Autos is fine. Not sure what kind of starter plugs you have, but I have heard of some starter plugs being used and successfully. The heat pad is a given when using the humidity dome. All of that together is what creates a warm, humid little box for your seeds to germ. Just my here.

just be careful not too overheat your tender little auto babies! I use the dome and a double flour light overhead and the temps are great hope you do well with your grow
