Any suggestions for a humidifier for a 2.3x2.3 tent? I’m planning to get a Inkbird controller to manage heat and humidity. Thx

If you don't have RO or distilled water, I recommend an evaporative humidifier. I think the Vornado ones are the best. I also prefer to humidify the room itself rather than just the tent. But I have used my humidifier in the tent before and had no issues other than it taking up a little too much room.

The ones ACinfinity just released look very nice and would fit a smaller tent great. I have a active air 75 pint plumed to R/O water, and it has zero issue keeping my humidity where I need it in the winter. Its small(er) but requires being plumed in because the tank is so small. Mine is run to a 5 gallon tank and that lasts me 3 days on average, but I am humidifying the entire room.

I had two evaporative humidifiers and they struggled to keep up with my needs. one was the standard gallonish tank stand up, and the second I bought holds almost 4 gallons and is as big as an AC unit, and it could barely keep up running non-stop. The active air is smaller than both of them.

Weird, my 4 gallon Vornado evap barely switches on and it keeps the entire room + humidified like a champ. Need to refill like every 4 days. Southern California too so it is dry as a bone in the summer.

I’m happy with mine too. I’m in So Cal also and in a shed in the backyard (about 300sf) so tent always leans to the outside conditions but the vornado on high stabilizes the whole shed and it works great on low inside the tent for germinating and first week. It’s only 20” wide x 12” deep x 12” high. I refill about every 3-4 days. Highly recommended

Mine was an Aircare 6 gallon from Home Depot, I had to run the part number off the tag on google. I actually replaced it a few weeks ago, its sitting in my basement all cleaned up ready to go. The thing is massive and massively inefficient.

I looked up the Vornado, and it seems to be a very different design. Does it pump water over the filter? I won't argue that it doesn't work, it obviously does. The two evaporative ones I have from local stores just do not work well. I guess buyer beware.

Interesting. I have used another evap unit that was smaller, a Honeywell. Now that thing didn’t do anything. Must be the wicking system.

Dunno if you’re aware but you can squeeze at least a few months out of the Vornado wicks if you soak them in hot water and about a cup of vinegar for about 20 minutes. I do that about once a month. Just don’t try to squeeze them dry. I will usually rinse them well and put them back in wet.

No it doesn’t pump water. But it does have dual wicks. As long as you change them, or do the cleaning I mentioned above they work well. I’m not sure what type of wicks the 1 and 2 gallon vornados use, but apparently they’re pretty solid too.

All that said, if someone has RO water I might just get a regular humidifier and be done with it. I don’t use RO though, and I’m not dealing with distilled water and the cost.
