For the third grow, I did 2 batches of supersoil, one for flower and one for veg, and then I tiered them in the pots.
Supersoil #2 (Veg)
1 bag Roots Organics
2 qt Coco
2 qt Worm Castings
3 qt Perlite
1 T Azomite
1/3 c Lime (pelletized dolomite)
1/4 c Epsom Salts
1 c. Alfalfa Meal 2-1-2
1 c. Bone Meal 3-15-0
1/2 c. Blood Meal 13-0-0
1 c. Greensand 0-0-.1
1 1/2 c. Guano 0-7-0
1/2 c. egg shells
1 tsp. mycorrhizae
Supersoil #2 (Flower)
1 Bag Roots Organics
1 gal. Perlite
6 c. Coco
5 c. Worm Castings
1 T Azomite
2T Epsom Salts
1/2 c. Egg Shells (hand crushed)
1 tsp Mycorrhizae
1 c. Alfalfa meal 2-1-2
1 oz. Lime (pelletized dolomite)
3 T Blood Meal
1/2 c. Greensand 0-0-.1
2 T Fossilized Seabird Guano 1-10-1
These were watered with 2 tsp Humic acid, 1 tsp maxicrop seaweed, 1 tsp molasses, and 1/2 tsp super thrive in 1 gal water (each), and turned and "cooked" for a couple months. Again, I was able to ignore my water's Ph and still have runoff at 6.5. I put 1 or 2 tsp of Honey in each gal. of water throughout the grow, and 1/2 tsp of maxicrop seaweed in every other watering.
Almost 25 weeks into this grow and I'm quite satisfied with this method. I won't get insane yields - but I don't need insane yields. A few minor tweaks for the next batch: added kelp meal to eliminate the need for maxicrop, a little less N, a little more lime. When/if I get this dialed in it should be pretty idiot proof. And that's a good thing.
Started 10 WOS Colombian Gold and 10? [I thought 5, but I don't seem to have any left - unless I put them somewhere safe.] Holy Smoke Malawi Gold, a few at a time over a couple weeks. Had fungus gnat issues at the time, and ended up with 2 MG (1 male 1 girl) and 4 CG ( 2 each). The WOS CG claims to be 75% sativa, and I got 1 Colombian looking girl and 1 Colombian looking boy, and 2 hybrid looking things. But even the Colombian looking girl is much frostier than a landrace really should be - not that I'm complaining...too much. The Malawis are/were just lovely, despite the abuse I've heaped on her in order to keep her in the tent. But she's (thus far) not at all frosty. Which is fine - neither was the mid-'70s Colombian Gold.
Fortunately, since I have close neighbors, smell has not been an issue for this grow at all.The MG smells slightly of sandalwood, the colombians slightly of incense, and the tent exhaust smells faintly of, well, pot. At least pot as I remember it. I did take two branches from the CG pheno of the CG; one because I broke it, and one that was just taunting me. After ~3 weeks of cure, it smells very faintly of cantaloupe and mango, with an undertone of peat moss. No indication or hint of all the honey I fed her. Taken at ~95% clear trichs, the high is remarkable. Happy, horny, energetic, motivating (after a bowl of this I made blueberry pancakes just for myself for the first time in a decade or so), and all TV is instantly rendered 3-D TV - no glasses required. Awesome stuff, but not really comparable to the '70s CG. It's more reminiscent of HOG, or maybe Colombian Red without the 'stone'. Very, very good, but not Special like the original CG, a few Hawaiians, and the rare Thai that didn't threaten your mental or physical well-being. Can't wait to see what she's like mature and cured. Literally. I'll probably start taking her down in the next couple days. Even though there probably still aren't 100 amber trichs in the whole tent.
