How far can the tube run from the reservoir? I looked online though could not find reference to it. Do you know of rule like raise the reservoir this high per foot of tube on there?

Might want to contact Autopot through their website. I contacted them a couple different times to ask a question and they responded quickly and were very helpful.

Length of running tubing shouldn't matter, as long as there is sufficient flow (and don't need much), which depends on tubing diameter and the water pressure.

I vaguely recall AutoPot recommending 12 inches minimum difference in height between level of reservoir outlet and AutoPot valves, with this enough pressure to supply long lengths of any tubing you are likely using.

Thanks. I think for the height I may try it like 2 feet from the floor on there.

Just for reference, when I contacted autopot I asked them about keeping the reservoir about 6 feet above my plants (reservoir on top of tent) and this was their response:

“Thanks for reaching out. 5-6 feet elevation above the pots won’t be a problem. Try not to raise it much more than that though. The added pressure will actually be a benefit for you. Please feel free to reach out if you have anymore questions.”

You can have the line be 20 feet long. just keep the rez higher than the trays. I have mine 3.5 feet high and all is well.

My current setup probable has 12 feet of hose between the reservoir tap and the furthest of four autopots, and something like two feet of head, and it works perfectly. The autopot kits (my two orders at least) included fittings that allow use of standard 1/2" garden hose as the main feed line, and necks down to the ~1/4 black line that attaches to the auto valves. If you use half inch hose to reach the vicinity of the autovalves before necking down, you could place the reservoir a lot further away than I did.

The valves will work fine with not much head, likely a foot or so would be fine. If you go with higher head, the max fill in the pot may increase slightly, but not by much. In any case, something like a couple feet should be perfect. If you want to do a long run from the reservoir, just do most of it with 1/2 hose and you will be golden.
