Thanks, I'll buckle up. Got a SAS running ATM myself and it is very stable, long story, wont go there, but it is very, very stable.

Seeds arrived safe and sound today. Got a total of 10 fems (all autos) - 2 free pakistan ryders (World of Seeds), 2 pineapple express (Barneys), 2 Super Automatic Sativa (Big Buddah), 2 auto Jack, 1 black jack (sweet seeds), 1 la bella afrodita (delicious seeds). http://www.worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com/ is now legit in my book baring any germination issues. They were shipped very stealthy, none appear to be crushed.

I'll continue to grow out the seedlings that could possibly be male since they're already close to two weeks old and should show sex soon. Males will be replaced with Pineapple express or Super Sativa fems.

Also expect my new PG 180 in the mail today. It will be interesting to compare the new 2011 model to my older 2011 model 180s and my 2010 model 250. The older models are all 7 band, the new 180 carries 14 bands including UV. I'll snap some pics when I update this weekend.

I am interested also hoss nice info on leds and seeing your results makes me want leds instead of hps. The cost just makes me a little apprehensive, but for me getting all the heat situated with an hps would cost more.

The equation really does correct itself over the long haul. I'm growing four autos at a time so I'm easily getting well over $250 worth of pot (that I now do not have to buy) from each DSC00946.jpgDSC00947.jpgDSC00948.jpgDSC00949.jpgDSC00952.jpgDSC00951.jpgDSC00950.jpgplant in 7-9 weeks. That's about what I paid for each of my four panels hunting on ebay. Sometimes you can find em on there cheaper than retail. The way I see it was after 9 weeks I'd recouped my investment and will continue to save a lot of electricity plus not have to replace any lighting in my set up for the 3 years they're under warranty. Yes plunking down a g on lighting is a bitch but not that bad when you look at the long term win(s).

Speaking of leds got my new one in the mail today, very different from the first 2011 PG 180s I've got (the old 250 as well). Snapped some pics to illustrate the one with a lot of blue and violet is my new one. Has 14 bands as opposed to 7 on the old, plus it looks like they moved a shit ton of stuff around. The old ones didn't have high kelvin diodes in the flowering bands, now they do.

Anyway took some pictures of a plant I just trimmed to get everyone's (if you care to chime in) feedback. I've found I cannot tuck autos so have been trimming the fan leaf once the cola growing from the fan leaf I'm about to trim is established and sprouting its own leaves. I found this increased average yield and promoted better cola development. I usually trim at least the first two sets of fan leaves off when the time (IMO) is right. If you disagree with this method, its cool, please chime in and let me know what you're up to in your garden. I arrived at this method through trial and error like most other current practices in my garden.

I get you on the heat man. I would have had to get some ducting and high speed fans to cool my area. The two 400w hps lights, even w/ cool tubes wasn't cutting it. Where I live it gets very hot in the summer, so much so that temps were getting close to 100 degrees F in my closet with HID. It was fucking up the finished product.

I would suggest researching the hell out of any company you're considering. The ones I had on my 'I would buy these list' were (in no particular order) Stealth, Hydroponics Hut, GLH, & Advanced. I've seen some pretty kick ass blackstar journals too but they only offer a 12 month warranty, the others mentioned 3 years or more. I had to have at least a 3 year warranty for the investment to make sense for me.

All three of the plants that could have possibly been male turned out to be males. Glad I have some fem seeds to germ.

How old is the plant in that pic? Did you trim fan leaves off that one? Doesnt seem to have any bud yet and I noticed you said you trim once the bud leaves are established. Sorry for all the questions, I am a new grower and I am planning on experimenting with trimming fan leaves. I am running 6 autos, I plan to trim 2, tuck the leaves of 2 under the bud, and leave the other 2 alone. They are all the same strain so im hoping that I can figure out the method which produces the best results for me. Sorry about the 3 males mate.

sweetcaramel.jpgsupersativa.jpgcarameltop.jpgblackjack.jpgbb.jpgIt was about two weeks old when I trimmed. Here are some pics about 3 weeks old. My advice would be experiment and see what works well for you. That's how I arrived at my method. Also some new baby pics attached. The one with three original leaves (mutant) is a black jack from sweet seeds. The other baby a super sativa auto from Big Buddah.

The nuggets are the Black Briar strain I made. Gave some to my buddy who used to grow photo period outdoor. Convinced him he could probably get two harvests in each season with autos - I was right. Returning the favor for the seeds I gave him he tossed me some nuggets.
