Ok guys and gals I purchased a Claber Oasis 8053 for a short trip out of town and possible vacations without the worry of watering the plants while your gone. Seems like a very simple system that is pretty much idiot proof but we all know how that goes! The one question I have from the group is that it has 4 programs for how much water you want to drip in a day per dripper. 1.01 oz, 1.35 oz, 2.02 oz, or 4.05 oz. What does everyone think would be the best setting for say a 4 day trip? I definitely dont want to overdue it so I am leaning toward the 2.02oz a day but I would like to hear from the group. The cool thing about this system is that it runs on a 9 volt battery and gravity plus you can put as many drippers per pot that you want if you feel you need double the amount but right now I am going with one per plant. I will post some pictures if anyone is interested?

Yup I got one of those. It worked nicely when I had to go for a 1.5 weeks. The biggest thing is. How stable is your environment. Heat fluctuations? how often (days) do you water you plants ATM? how stable is relative humidity? if you heat stays down, humidity doesn't take a big drop, and you are growing in regular pots and soil, then the low to mid setting is fine. if you use air pots or other, I would use high and you should be fine, but if heat bumps way up you better watch out. that'll need more water quick.

Also, if you are going out of town, make sure you have a heat sensing switch to shut down the grow. better to have girls in the dark etc. than a burnt house.

I am good on everything else gearbear, I have a constant 71 to 81 degree heat and humidity at 40% no matter what I do. Its always been the watering thats been an issue for me. I had a emergency earlier this year that caused me to lose a lot of yield on a white dwarf and almost the entire grow. However, the only issue I will have is that it is wrapped between two closet grows both soil but one is regular pots the other in airpots. I think for now I will be fine on the 2.02 oz setting since the airpot grow is only in week 1-2 so not as much water is needed. I will give them a little extra before I leave this weekend but its only going to be 4 days for this trip. My wife is the one that is killing me about taking a 10 day vacation all the time but I cant do that to my kids without a piece of mind that they will be fine!

IMG00542.jpgLol, You could drop the air pots into a larger pot with some paper towels at the bottom to help wick/and retain water. It'll lesson the evaprotive nature of the system while still allowing the results you would want.

Maybe you might also want to drop a small airstone in it and really bump it up while you're gone? They'll be happy girls when ya get back.

If you look closely That is a Large net pot set in a reg. size pot.

Just a quick update.. The claber is a tricky system to setup and I highly recommend anyone trying it to do several test runs. The big down side I see is that you really need to have all you pots at the same height or the system will airlock and not work and that's what happened to me. I am going to keep testing this product until I get the kinks worked out because I really want to run two continuous grows at the same time and take vacations without worry!
