Hi Everyone,

Just thought I’d sign up here to share my upcoming grow mainly for advise and tips from much more experienced growers.

I’ve 2 two grows previous to this so I do know bits and bobs, my first grow was indoors using a tiny tent with 4 very large autos in there which was a learning curve for sure haha. I did manage to get huge yields off three of the four plants but got really eager and chopped far too early so the potency wasn’t very good!

Last summer I planted a random seed on my windowsill in a litre bottle cut in half later transplanted into an 8 litre smart pot. It turned out to be a pheno and finished too late into our year so again the quality wasn’t great!

This year I’m planning on growing outdoors again, I’ve currently got 4 autos and 2 phenos in an empty wardrobe under a 250w HPS Light on the same light cycle as our daylight in England 14/10.

2 phenos are 3 and 2 days old and 3 of the 4 autos have just sprouted today waiting for the leaves to appear!

Any advise would be much appreciated, maybe a journal would be better?

Have a beautiful 420!

Bless up,
Ras

Welcome to AFN Ras!

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

Feel free to post a journal! We love seeing them grow up, and you'll get some followers and hopefully the help you need to see it through.
Auto's tend to do better with longer light schedules ... but if 14 hours is all you can get.. then that'll have to do!

The Phenos you're referring to, i think, are "photos" (short for photoperiod (which demand a light schedule)) .. these will flower under 12 hours of darkness/light (unless you get a fast photo, which can cope with more light and less darkness)

The phenos (or phenotypes) are actually varients of plants in the same type. (Eg if you had 2 northern lights and one was short and fat, and the other tall and thin.. you'd say they're different phenos) ^_^

Good luck with the grow!!

All the best

Blue ^_^

Hi @blue,

Thanks for your reply! Yeah sorry haha I did mean photos not phenos :dang:

Yeah ideally I’d have the light set to 18/6 but I’m just scared the plants might freak out when I put them outside?

I don’t think I’ll have much room in the small space for many weeks as all the autos are predominantly sativa so I’m trying to keep the light the same as our daylight at the moment.

Hello dude and :welcome::welcome: Welcome to AFN........I am only gonna say the same as @blue lol.....but in my experience with auto's, because it's a set cycle.....it's advantageous to give them as much light as possible, all thru their lives...:d5:....I don't grow outdoors tho dude so I could be wrong .......but I wouldn't think they would freak out...:smiley1:......I am NW too haha....:smiley1:

hi and :welcome: @Ras Greenthumb :pass:if its a back garden job they maybe benefit from.....seasoning is it ? when ya give them a few hours outdoors as they get older

Welcome to the AFN Army! you should still get a good harvest with that light cycle not ideal but very good. Watch for mold and bugs. Some bugs are ok I think they sometimes put the plant into a shock and make it produce more sticky goo to catch things trying to eat it. Good luck . Im sure you will do fine and let it go to full maturity this time.:)

Hi @Vapo69 & @archie gemmill

Thanks for the advice guys. I think it’s probably best to up the light cycle for as long as I’ve got space. I think I will slowly adapt them to the outdoors just incase it does freak them out.

Ideally I’d have them outdoors now but its still very cold at night and strong winds during the day but definitely hitting up! I will be investing in a greenhouse too so they will be sheltered and hidden from neighbours view.

I’m going to start a journal once my last seed is above soil!

Thanks again brothers! :d5::jointman:

Hi @DABaracuss

I think I might up the lights to 18/6 while I’ve got the chance with the light. If I ease them outside we hopefully won’t have any issues!

Yeah I noticed a lot of bugs love weed too last year haha. When they do go outside I’m hoping to have a greenhouse which should minimise pests to some extent!

This time I’m definitely waiting until the perfect time to harvest. I’ve learnt my lesson from being too eager and impatient.

Bless up family :jointman:
