I lied. Ended up LSTing her last night to increase yield with the usable light from the T5's. This is really turning out to be a fun little experiment.
To think it's only been 49 days(7 weeks) since I dropped her in a moist paper towel. Supposedly Think Different goes for about 10-11 weeks so we'll see. She's still sitting at 1.0EC(500ppm) ph 5.8
I love the tropical aromas coming from her. The flowers are starting to get larger. This is cool:smoking:
Alright 8 weeks in from seed! She's starting to really chunk up and here I thought I needed to replace my t5 tubes soon. Guess they still got it. She's still at 1.0EC(500ppm) that's my max for this girl. 2.7g of VB base and .6g of shine(pk).
Just started her on the phd water diet. I noticed a slight increase in tip burn yet she is also yellowing and started showing purple fall finishing colors. These are signs to me that she's not wanting anymore food and instead wants to finish up in the next couple weeks so I'll let her eat herself up and use up any remaining nutrients in the coco as well.
She's bulking up pretty good for just being under T5's. I'm impressed as I've only ever flowered under HPS. I'd like to give LEDs a try some time.
I've been noticing the amber trichomes progressing rapidly in the past day or so. Planning to chop in the next few days here. I'll be sure to post up some dried flower shots, yield and what I think of the smoke. After I post that up this journal will end.
I'd like to thank those who have followed my first journey into the autoflower world. This thread hasn't got much traffic but I had some good times nonetheless.
I really had a great time growing this autoflower. I'm certainly going to be playing with them from time to time now. It was extremely easy, and I loved not having to worry about light leaks or disturbing her during dark times. Under these conditions my TD maxed out at 1.0EC(500ppm) for the whole run. What an efficient little lady. She produced a solid looking yield considering she spent her whole life under a four 4ft 54 HO T5's that have been in use for quite some time. I doubt they are at full efficiency anymore.
This experiment was a huge success! I can't wait to try some auto's outside or under stronger light and in bigger containers.
I actually noticed the ambers did not increase as fast as I thought they were. I really wanted to let this girl max out her trichs and keep eating herself past the recommended flowering time of the breeder because I feel my conditions are far from ideal compared to theirs so I extended the chop date from the last update.
She's been on the ph'd water diet for 3 weeks. That may be a bit longer than some, but I wasn't exactly sure when she would finish so I wanted to play things safe at the expense of a possible increase in yield. Not going for the biggest yield of my life with this one hahaha, just trying to get some quality autoflower smoke to test out:smoking:
Bare with me on the shots everyone. I was kind of in a hurry lol.
As you can see we have a ton of MILK, a bit of amber, and a smidgen of clear. I'm pulling this baby probably in the next day or so here
