I'd put hydroton or something larger in the bottom with the airstone, then pile the perlite on the rest.. media is up to you as is the aeroponic aspect. Don't over think Hempy, it's against the rules, no seriously.. okay just kidding.
You can use any hydro media for hempy really, the guy himself reccomends 50/50 perlite/cocoo.. I use 50/40/10 coco, perlite, vermiculite.
ok so you just drill your hole put the perlite or whatever in then water till it comes out the hole? sorry im just trying to wrap my head around the whole concept. It does seem simple but i just want to make sure i got it down before i put it to use

No need to apologize we all trying to learn.
As far as I understand.
Original hempy
Drill a hole 2 inches from the bottom (hole should not exceed half an inch).
Add perlite.
Water everyday until roots hit the bottom.
Water till only about 20% of water comes out the hole.
Hempy-Plus:
Drill hole 6 inches from the bottom
Add ph'd water in the bottom
Air+Air stone at the bottom of the bucket
Fill with washed perlite
Attach airline to airpump
This allows you to have a mix of dwc+hempy thanks to teflon. thanks for the tutorial!
Hey zx. TD won't be able to reply. He's out of town.
You could germinate using paper towel method or plant straight into jiffy pellets. Once it gets big enough you could transplant straight into the hempy plus bucket. Or you could make a smaller hempy using party cups. From there cut the bottom of the cup then place into the final container once you're ready to transplant
