from what ive read, haveing more than the right amount of plants will yield you the same amount as the right amount. if that makes any sense. also remember that most cfls use less watts than what they say they run at for example my 250w runs at about 140-150 and my small 45 watters run at around 37. so IMO i would either get more lights if you have the space and funds, and grow 4 plants instead of the 8 because youre just gona be wating money on seed if they dont have the space to grow or the light.

also make sure you have something to catch run off water in.. are you making one of these saucers or are you just using something youve bought?

When I started planning my first grow I thought about doing cfl's and everyone I talked to said a minimum of 45w per plant. But I have seen people work with less. Its gonna be trial and error until you find your groove. Happy Growing

Thanks everyone for all the advice I really really appreciate it, my beans should be here this week so I'll probably have a lot more questions as my grow gets started.

We'll be here when that time comes.

Ok so I redid the lights and added 4 more bulbs for a total of 322w, 7 6500k and 7 2700k.

Oops here's the pic.

Sorry for the bad pics guys but I only have my phone to take pics with, I planned on putting the containers in a aluminum baking pan to catch the runoff.

Hey man I started with cfl's and I liked them, if you have the money get 14 6500 for veg and 14 for flower you will be better off if not you will be alright. Your box looks pretty small so your plants may stay pretty short and I would say they would do. If it was me I would try and spread them out more evenly so each pot gets a good amount of light. If you wanna see a bad ass cfl grow check out beals mi5 auto assassins.

My best advice that i can give and what was told to me personally if you can get a HID light go for it you will really see the major plus rather then cfl or t5's i used t5's for veg to save on the power bill and 400watt HPS to flower...even a 250watt would be low key(if thats what you want)and still very efficent

hey seed i don't see any drain holes it your pots? i am using 4gal. square pots:peace:
