Sweet Seeds help with my blow mind auto.....

cheers marty - sound advice bud. im wondering if i was missing nitrogen from the off... i used biobizz lightmix and from what i can now gather, it doesnt have a great concentration of nutes in it. i started with advanced nutes sensi bloom (based on tangs feeding sched) so im guessing that with the low level of nutes in the biobizz and the fact that bloom nutes are lower in N, they've combined to create the perfect N deficienct storm!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond to my post. appreciate it mate.

PS ive started them with a bit of overdrive so fingers crossed!

No probs. I used biobizz light mix with advanced nutes when I started growing. I won't be doing it again lol. Had massive pH issues with that mixture of soil and nutrients for some reason. Changed it to plagron light mix and it all changed. No issues what so ever.

Auto flowers don't like heavy nutrients, so it's always best so start with a light mix so you can control what nutrients they're getting from the start.
Keep her on overdrive for 2 weeks and you should really see those buds fatten up. Then flush for a week, where you will start to see her lose all her colour in the leaves.

If you've got a jewellers loupe you can check the trichomes before harvest.

Man, you're so right about the biobizz/advanced nutes combination. to be fair, Tang's suggestion was Plagron Light Mix to be used with Adv Nutes but I could only get biobizz in my local growshop and having used it for a couple of outdoor grows in the past i thought i'd be alright with it. How wrong could I be!

Yes, I'll be sure to use the overdrive for a couple of weeks and then on with the flush. And I got a nice little microscopic camera for christmas so I'll deffo be able to check those wee trichomes.

cheers buddy. you're a gent.

have good eve, KP.

marty, they are looking fiiiiine! you were bang on about the overdrive. those buds are swelling like motherfuckers! I've just updated the thread, if you get a chance have a quick look. sorry bro, i'd stick the pics up here but i posted from my phone and im writing this on my laptop.

Am at D63 at the mo and was thinking about letting them go for 80. obvs i'll let the trichs be the judge of when to harvest but i hope i can squeeze a couple more overdrive feeds in prior to flushing. do you just do one big flush and then not feed for 10 days?

For last ten days I usually just feed plain tap water, I think they refer to this stage at the cleanse on AFN.
I tend to avoid big flushes as they can stress the plant, I'll use a flush as a last resort if I've got a problem an can't figure out what's happening.

it could be a magnesium def as that also looks similar to a nitrogen def,red stems yollowing and rust spots on the leaves
epson salts 1 teaspoon per liter of water make sure its fully dissolved before feeding

Thank you for this. I'm playing with bottled nutes for the first time, coming from a background of LOS, and I keep forgetting to add Epsoms. I think I'll make a BIG sign at the sink so this isn't overlooked again.

I also appreciate the insight into the possible deficiency. So much to learn.

Hi everyone!
I think that yellow color is very normal in this stage.
Now the plant doesn't need Nitrogen.
I recommend you to give her the last dose of flowering nutrients, after that I would start to make the flush. But it's only my opinion :p
Good luck and sweet new year!:pass:

And thank you Jay for your more precise insight. My first impulse when I viewed the pictures was that this was a plant coming into her harvest window a little earlier than anticipated. It happens. What threw me was the yellowing at the very top of the plant. I it appears from the pictures that this might have occurred earlier than the turning of the lower leaves.

Would such a progression in leaf change in fact signal deficiency? My understanding was that maturity necrosis began with the lower leaves and traveled up the plant.

Forgive my letting my curious nature take over the thread. I'm still quite the novice.
