I have a bag-seed plant that is flowering (and two autos sprouting), and while the smell is beautifully intoxicating, I need it to not exist on behalf of others that live in this house.

I'm growing in my A/C closet in the garage, the total space of the closet is 13' x 5', and I'm using only about the back 3' x 4' for the grow in a little nook behind the A/C unit. I have about 5' of height. Most of the space is occupied by the unit, duct work and water heater. The A/C unit leaks a little into this space, keeping it cool (maybe too cool?). I'm using LED for lights, I have 2x 60W Phillips heat/infrared lamps. and will be adding some CFL for the new auto-flowering seeds I just planted. I have no tent (yet?)

I've read through the threads and the consensus is don't go cheapo. Would a Phresh Filter 6 in x 24 in 550 CFM do the trick for my space? ... I think I read somewhere here of another type of filter besides carbon, but can't find it. ... just wondering what my best options are. Many thanks!

... it's the glowing space on the end! :)

Im running a 6 inch 300mm rhino hobby filter in a 3 foot x 3 foot by 6 foot space which works, what size tent you gonna go for?

Rhino Hobby filter 6" 150x300mm
Made with Australian-mined RC412 carbon, this top of the range filter has a life span of up to 12 months Comes with a unique reversable neck. Max air flow 600m3/hr

Thanks for the tip! I'm not sure on a tent yet, I haven't really started looking because I'm not sure I'll need it. It makes sense that it will best contain smell, but (and this is a newbie question) what other benefits does a tent provide that I can't create in my space? ... and won't a good filter keep the whole closet area clean?

Oh, and the Rhinos don't seem to be readily avail in US.

With a tent you could create an area to grow which you control in input and out put of air. with an open area the carbon filter will pull the air with the least about of resistance ( which could mean the air around and not the smell or heat ) With a tent your limiting the areas in which the air comes in and goes out as well as funneling the air in up and out

And the Phresh Filter Ive not heard a bad thing but I would look at a 6 inch by 300 mm one that should be more then you need but if you have the budget go for the 6 x 24
