o and a digital/dimmable ballast runs both mh and hps bulbs so thats not true either..check them out.no switchs to remember.the ballasts recognizes the differnt

I'm in the US, Electric is not that big of an issue where I am... I just want to get the best lights I can for my dollar. I really don't want to go over 200 right now, later I'll upgrade.. I'll have a carbon filter and inline fan so I could vent it out but how much heat is it going to throw off?

1000W heats my rm up on a mild day(68°- 82°)thats no inline fan/ac....just the light..i run a ac at 72° i get 76°......inline fans are even silly to me.seems a gimic.u dont need to pull all that electric to purify air...buy an old skool ionizer(use to b n bars for cig smoke)just get a 3000sq ft one thats way over sq ft of space.($140 amazon)pulls 8amps.i run it one a 17'×32' space in yur smell nothing.well exept that hospital/recycled air smell

My electric is super cheap where i am..and the 240v conversion is already with the setup..(110v)its $12 a month,$18 month for ac..this is each however...but my bill stays under 200 with all the shit i got.

Just make sure u dont buy old magnetic ballast..thats old shit..go to amazon search bar in look up "1000hps digital ballast"

U will run into a guy call "big smo" on here.very very samrt, knows his shit..im not bashing him but he makes amazing cobs,n he even said "and led is the yugo)a cob is suped up honda, and 1000hps is American muscle wen it comes to lights...."

Temps in my closet have ranged between 72-92 depending on outside temps with 400w HPS in a cool tube with more airflow than necessary.

Under $200? HID is likely the best bang/buck. MY whole setup was like 140 bucks w/ballast, cool tube, hangers, timer and both MH and HPS bulbs. If I had the space to justify the light I'd go CMH all the way but that cost 2-3x as much.

That said, I'm switching my HID out for COBs. Already hung 2 and my plants seem to prefer them so...

Hi everyone, I'm looking to pick the best light for the dollar. My setup is a closet where I will be growing 2 plants... LED is preferred but HPS would be alright too.. I'll have an Inline fan that I could use if heat is an issue... I was planning on getting 2 Mars Hydro 300 LED on ebay (137.99) But would like to see what you guys think would be the best for 2 plants.

Thanks!
Send a PM to @BigSm0 and ask him what he can do to set you with two AutoCobs and be done with this lighting issue. You won't be sorry.
Less expensive to operate and you won't have to vent 600 extra degrees of heat. I have two Chinese LED panels but now I have moved into
the American manufactured white light AutoCob. Check out cobshop.net.

Lots to take in. Every light has its advantages and disadvantages. I don't recall calling cobs suped up hondas but I do remember calling hps American muscle. The problem is the fuel mileage on them is poor which is very similar to power useage of hps. These cobs we use are very fuel efficient and also very powerful. Plenty of options available as more and more people convert to better technology.
