Hey everyone!

First time grower/poster here.

Two weeks ago I decided to do a budgeted grow and already ordered most of the stuff before I found out about AFN, wish I had come upon it sooner!

I have no prior experience with growing anything but I'm a very big fan of MJ and after doing some research I think I'm 'almost' ready for it!

Well, after ordering most of my material, I came here and with my lights being delivered in the next week (hopefully) and the rest set up, I just had to join this awesome community for the great tips, people and vibes!


I hope you guys approve of my set-up, it's a budget set up so I won't be able to spend much more money on it but all advice is appreciated !

Tent:
-1.2m x 1.2m x 2m (4x4, I think?) Secret Jardin Growtent with carbon filter thingy and exhaust fan.
-Got a 15mm Intake Fan
-Clip-on Fan for inside the tent

Lights:
-KingLed King plus 1500W double chips LED (link)
-and for the first 3 weeks I'll be borrowing this light from a friend (dutch site) which I'll replace with a Roleadro 400W after that.

Seeds are 2x Royal Gorilla Auto & 1x Northern Lights Auto from RQS

Terra Cana Light mix for soil.
Biobizz nutes.
Will be using 3x 20Litre (5.2 gallon) pots.

And got a PH meter for my water!


I have a question about the amount of water I should be using since I really have no idea about the amount of feed I should be preparing weekly. (Considering the 3 20L pots, at what amount of water am I looking at ?)

personal grow dont need much
how much to water....thats very much a how does it feel question,its different for different folks.i use the lift up and down pot method of when to water.a spare pot potted up sat in a corner somewhere.that will give you the gauge of when your other pots are light or heavy.light =give em a water.heavy =maybe tomorrow.my 6L pots cant hold anymore than 1.5L of water.although i start gentle,250ml/500ml.1L,1.5L as the plant grows.

Hi :smoking: Sounds like you did your research before you jumped into gardening that's a solid setup for a first garden, good research is your best place to begin. As far as watering you will see a few techniques here on AFN use what suits you and your schedule but remember it's better to water less more often than to over water even once. Your grow medium, temps, humidity, fan placement, ect... all play in how fast you medium will dry out. I will pass on a great piece of advice I received when I first got here. Water your seedlings further away from the stem. I place a humididome (bottom half of 2 liter) over seedling and water around it. I have found this does help from over watering as well as promote rapid root growth. I got myself a 1 liter cup with measurements on it when I first started growing this helped me alot as well.
